PS4: Day 1 Update

Hello Everyone,

Sony is following in the footsteps of Wii with a system updated on day 1. Not all features will be available directly out of the box. The Day 1 1.50 System update will take up 300mb and will include Remote Play for Playstation Vita amongst other features.

Remote Play: You will be able to access PS4 titles and play them on your PS Vita. If you are one of the few people who own one. I realize that when I think of my Sony friends not a lot of them actually own a Vita. For those that do, please let me know how the system works out.

Party (Voice Chat) – You can use the bundled head set to chat with up to 8 friends while they enjoy other games and apps. You can also use chat between the 4 and Vita.

Face Recognition and Voice Commands: If you have the Camera you will be able to register your facial image and login via facial recognition. You can also utilize voice commands to navigate through the menu.

Second Screen: Players will be able to use the PS4 link app for the Vita as well as the Playstation App for Apple and Google based products. You will have the ability to interact with games from mobile devices.

Multi Login: Sweet! Up to four users can be logged into a single PS4 system at the same damn time! You can use your own save date and earn trophies for your account!

Online Multiplayer: Playstation Plus members will be able to play PS4 titles online with other players via the network. It makes it easier to join other matches.

Social Spectating: You can now broadcast your gameplay in real-time to game fans around the globe using Ustream and Twitch live internet streaming services. Note – you will need to sign up for individual accounts to use the two streaming services. Raise your hand if you believe that trolls and hecklers are going to have a field day with this?

Share button: The PS4 video encoding system enables easy uploading gameplay. You can share via the Share Button on the DualShock 4 controller, take screenshots, and scan through the previous 15 minutes of gameplay. The video will upload as you play. You will be able to share videos on Facebook and screenshots on Twitter.

Play as you Download: You can start to download the game and play it while it is still downloading. That is a pretty sweet feature in my opinion. If we are forced to go to these digital titles then we should not be forced to wait for those titles to download.

Okay so that is just a snap shot of features during the update. We will hear more details as we get closer to the November 15th release date. So what are your thoughts on the system update for day 1 and some of the features? Comment and let me know what you think.
