Movie Mondays: V/H/S

Hello Everyone,

New installment of Random Movie Mondays. I decided to watch the movie V/H/S. I remember hearing about it in the past and since it was on Netflix, I figured I would check it out. There have been mixed reviews so I decided to see what the fuss was about.

IMDB Story Line: A found footage horror film from the perspective of America's top genre filmmakers. A group of misfits are hired by an unknown third party to burglarize a desolate house in the countryside and acquire a rare tape. Upon searching the house, the guys are confronted with a dead body, a hub of old televisions, and an endless supply of cryptic footage, each video stranger than the last.

My Thoughts: The movie was at first confusing as I did not know what was going on but it soon became clear. The movie contains 6 different stories that are odd and/or include murders of the supernatural kind. The first story runs from the beginning to the end which is the group of misfits that find various videos in a house and begin to watch. The rest of the movie follows the stories of those in the videos that the misfits watch.

Once I understood what was going on, I did enjoy the movie overall. The storylines were properly freaky and not necessarily gory. My favorite storyline was "The Sick Thing that Happened to Emily When She Was Younger". I will not spoil it for you but lets just say it is a video chat that goes wrong. The other storylines are "10/31/98", "Tape 56", "Amateur Night", "Second Honeymoon", and "Tuesday the 17th". I would recommend this movie if you enjoy weird supernatural killings. Check this movie out and share your thoughts in the comments.
