Super Smash Bros Direct 4/8/2014 Wrap-up

Here is a quick wrap-up of the Nintendo Direct on Smash Bros. Release dates have been announced: 3DS version will be released in Summer 2014 and the Wii U version will be released in Winter 2014. There will be distinct stages on the 3DS and Wii U and some will be shared. It was also mentioned that there will be a connection between the 3DS and the Wii U but that will be announced at a later date. We were informed that the 3DS version will have the characters running at about 60fps.

Boss Battles: Yellow Devil was announced as a boss battle on the stage and he can be attacked. The goal is to get the last strike which will result in a huge blow against the other character. There will be other bosses revealed at a later date.

Internet Multiplayer: Wii U version will have the online multiplayer option, play with friends and strangers. The 3DS will also have online ability. With the Wii U version if you are not playing with friends you are allowed to play two types of online battles, for fun or for glory. When for fun it will be random stages, all items available, and only wins will be recorded. In for Glory, the stage will be Final Destination only, no items available, and wins and losses will be recorded. With friends you can set the rules as you choose. All stages have a final destination form which means it will be one level.

Cheaters never win: The potential to be banned is now in place if you are cheating, ending the game, or baselessly reporting others.

Ranking System: Global Smash Power - The ranking the system to show how strong the player is. You are compared to everyone else across the world. There will be match making occurring based on skill.

Assists: A lot of Pokemon were shown and a lot of assist trophies to make the battles interesting. The weapons are diverse as well with favorites being back.

Fighters: Characters that changed forms no longer change. Zero Suit Samus is in the game and she is improved and stronger. Sheik is on the scene and has grenades. Old characters announced so far have all been upgraded. Yoshi is now standing up right and is stronger.

New Fighters: Rosalina and Luma. - Luma can fight on its own when sent out. Rosalina can shoot out star bits. She appears to have a good long distance recovery jump. Little Mac may be small but has strong punches. He is weak in the air but is very strong on the ground. He also has a weak recovery jump. Little Mac has a one punch KO when he has been hit enough. The Villager  had a cool balloon recovery move. Mega Man has a strong upper cut and has a shooting blast. Wii Fit Trainer uses a sun salutation for  a projectile attack. Deep breathing helps make the Wii Fit Trainer be stronger. Male and female trainer are the same.

Custom move set for fighters. We will be informed more of this in the future.

Greninja has been announced. He is from Pokemon in case you did not know.

I only have one question after watching the 40 minute Nintendo Direct. Where are my Ice Climbers?
