Ghostbuster Reboot is on the Horizon

We all have waited patiently...... well most of us have waited patiently. I will admit I was not one of the patient fans waiting for a Ghostbusters Sequel by any means. I constantly searched the internet for news of a sequel and my dreams have officially died. We all know that most of the team was ready to sign on, Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis and Ernie Hudson had agreed to reprise their characters, Bill Murray was a hold out. Unfortunately Ramis passed away and the whole project fell apart. However Hollywood being what it is today decided to not do a sequel but a reboot. They did not go as far as Steel Magnolias but did go extreme by having an all female cast.

Melissa McCarthy is signed on. Sony is currently negotiating with Kristen Wigg, Leslie Jones, and Kate McKinnon. They are expected to sign on and start a summer shoot in New York. I guess my question is will Sigourney Weaver make an appearance. That would be nice. I hope that they pay proper respects to the classic and do not disrespect the fans. This is a go to comfort movie for many of us and I fear that in trying to make money they will upset the fans of the franchise.

I will sit back and wait, sipping my imaginary HI-C EctoCooler like I am Kermit with tea. Hopefully that will be the only meme associated with this and not the ashamed bear.  What are your thoughts on this all female reboot?

Life is Strange Launch Trailer Available Now

According to Jmax from DONTNOD the first episode that you’ll play is called Chrysalis and it’s basically an introduction to the world of Life is Strange. You will see Max and Chloe reunite and you will make important choices that will influence their destiny. You will see some of the short-term consequences of those choices but bear in mind that there are also mid and long-term repercussions that will pan out over the course of the later episodes, in a butterfly effect manner. So you might rewind your choices as much as you want in the short term but you will never know what might happen further down the line. And of course we’ll ensure that you always get surprised by unexpected turns of events and that your experience really feels unique and customized by your choices.

This first episode is also an introduction to the general mechanics of the game and although Life is Strange emphasizes story and choice over puzzles, you will also see an evolution over the next episodes in terms of how you need to combine different types of interactions and rewinds.
A free trial mode will be available on PS4, PS3, Xbox One, and Xbox 360 so you can get a feel for the game before you make your first meaningful choice: to buy or not to buy the game! But let’s be honest here: at $4.99 you get 2 to 4 hours of gameplay (depending on how you play)… and it’s cheaper than a beer!

X-Men: Apocalypse Casts Young Cyclops, Jean Grey, & Storm

In the upcoming movie, X-Men: Apocalpyse, it will take the X-Men into the 1980s and reintroduce younger versions of the characters we all love. Three of the actors have been finally announced.

Director Bryan Singer announced in a tweet that young Scott Summers a.k.a Cyclops will be played by Tye Sheridan, Sophie Turner, will be starring as young Jean Grey, and Alexandra Shipp will take on the role of young Ororo Munroe a.k.a Storm. All three actors have been mentioned before in screen testing rumors and, despite being various shades of newcomer, seem like solid choices to play the part of the fledgling mutants. X-Men: Apocalypse will mark the first time that any of these newcomers have starred in a major studio blockbuster.

Resurrection S2 Ep.12 "Steal Away"

Recap: The "returned" fall into a trance and are guided to Rachael.  James is curious about Margaret making "returned" disappear.  He also presses Henry about being estranged from her.  James convinces Agent Bellamy to try to get him into the government facility.  James tries every angle to get close to Margaret.  When James gets to the facility, he asks Margaret to tell him how to make the "returned" disappear.  In exchange, he will help her get out of there.  James gives all the "returned" in the facility poisoned communion wine.  They all die.  He does this so they can return again outside of the facility.

Agent Bellamy is starting to piece together James' plan and he becomes concerned about Rachael's safety.  He gets Fred to hide her at Henry's house.  James believes Rachael's unborn child is the antichrist.  He wants to make Rachael disappear to prevent the baby from being born.  Margaret refuses to help.  Back at the facility, Angela predicts there will be millions of "returned" worldwide.  Jacob tells Margaret  where Rachael is.  He also tells her he can feel Rachael's baby and it's hurting him.  Margaret changes her mind about helping James.

Review: Great episode!  What is the deal with Rachael's baby?  Why were all of the "returned" drawn to it?  James is determined to keep this baby from being born.  He did whatever he could to get close to Margaret in hopes of learning how to make "returned" disappear.  Margaret was quick to change her mind about helping him when she realized how the baby was affecting Jacob.  I can't wait to see what happens next.

Are more "returned" coming?  Will Rachael disappear before her baby can be born?

Please let me know what your comments or thoughts are.

Epic Battle: Lord Voldermort vs Darth Vader

Hello Everyone,

It's that time again! Another epic battle. This week's epic battle we have Lord Voldemort vs Darth Vader. Like always I will list strengths, things to think about, and my opinion on who would win.

First up is the ultimate father! Darth Vader
Info:
  • Name: Anakin Skywalker
  • Titles: Sith Lord, Supreme Commander of the Imperial Fleet, Jedi Knight, General in the Grand Army of the Republic
  • Voice - James Earl Jones "nuff said" that alone makes him badass
  • Armor - Mobile Support System, Uses Sith Alchemy, See in dark, Defense against Sonic Attacks
  • Weapon - Light Saber (Red Beam)
  • The Force - Dark Force Mastery Level
Those are the important aspects of Vader now we move on to Voldemort.

Next up, Lord Voldemort
Info:
  • Name: Tom Marvolo Riddle
  • Titles: The Dark Lord, You Know Who, Heir of Slytherin
  • Parselmouth - Ability to speak with serpents
  • Horcruxes - Broke up soul through dark magic to ensure immortality
  • Weapon - Wand (Yew, Phoenix Feather Core, 13 1/2 inches)
  • Magic - Dark Magic Mastery Level
There now you know about Voldemort as well. Here are some things to consider before choosing the winner.
  • Does The Force trump Magic?
  • Can The Force stop/deflect a spell?
  • Can the Protego Spell stop The Force?
  • Can Legilimens stop The Force mind control?
  • Imperius Curse vs The Force mind control, which one is stronger?
  • Can The Force stop Avada Kedavra?
Okay now make your decision. You have enough knowledge to decide. I personally think that Voldemort will win the duel because he overall has the blood thirsty mentality without remorse and will go the distance to kill. He was willing to murder a baby, he would do anything. His sheer will power of destruction will win. I do not think Vader will do what is necessary to win no matter what.

What are you thoughts? Leave your thoughts in the comments?

Resurrection S2 Ep.11 "True Believer"

Recap: Agent Bellamy has dreams about Preacher James.  Jenny reveals  that he performed "miracles" and always had a collection plate at his church.  James starts preaching to people outside and appears to bring a woman's dead husband back as a "returned."  It is the same man that was in Agent Bellamy's dream.  Nevertheless, Agent Bellamy thinks he is a con artist trying to rip people off.  At the government facility, Margaret helps a woman against a bully.  The woman expresses her gratitude, but Margaret isn't interested in making friends.  Rachael comes back and rents a room from Elaine.

Henry comes to Agent Bellamy in a vision, thanking him for bringing Jacob to his family.  Moments later, Agent Bellamy and Fred find that Henry has died from cardiac arrest while at a stop light.  Lucille asks James to bring Henry back.  He tells her he needs Agent Bellamy in order to do it.  James tells Fred and Agent Bellamy that one of them has to kill him so he can go where Henry is to get him back.  He already has a grave ready for his body.  Agent Bellamy refuses, but Fred shoots him and kills him.  They can't seem to find James "returned" after searching for hours.  Fred calls Margaret to break the news about Henry.  She breaks down when she thinks no one is around.  James finally comes back with Henry the next day.  James later admits to Agent Bellamy that in his previous life he was a horrible man, but he feels that he has "returned" for a reason and that the two of them are connected.  Fred sends Margaret a message about how Henry "returned."

Review: So, James can just bring people back??  I did not expect this show to take this type of turn.  I'm still not sure if this is totally a good thing though.  I would be interested in learning what is was like for Henry while he was gone.  Where did he go?  How exactly did James bring him back?  So many questions that this show leaves unanswered.  I still enjoy this show, but at the same time it's a little frustrating. I will say it keeps me guessing because it is unpredictable most of the time.

On another note, it was quite funny how Fred did not hesitate to shoot James.  James barely got his complete thought out before Fred shot him dead.

Who else is James going to bring back?  What's next for Agent Bellamy?

Please let me know what your comments or thoughts are.

Wii U Closes 2014 with Biggest Month of Sales in Its History

Wii U established new benchmarks for hardware and software sales in a single month in December. This helped total hardware and software sales in 2014 increase by more than 29 percent and more than 75 percent, respectively, over sales in 2013. Nintendo 3DS also had a strong December, including its largest month ever for first-party software sales. This was primarily fueled by Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS, which has already surpassed 2 million combined physical and digital units sold in a little more than three months, and Pokémon Omega Rubyand Pokémon Alpha Sapphire, which have combined to sell over 2.6 million physical and digital units in their first six weeks.

“Wii U had its strongest year yet thanks to the highly anticipated software lineup and the introduction of the amiibo platform,” said Scott Moffitt, Nintendo of America’s executive vice president of Sales & Marketing. “Fans can anticipate another strong year for 2015, especially with more highly anticipated games likeSplatoon and The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask 3D, as well as New Nintendo 3DS XL, arriving in the first half of 2015.”

Other Nintendo highlights from the full 2014 year include:

Wii U:
  • Mario Kart 8 and Super Smash Bros. for Wii U sold over 1.7 million physical and digital units and 1.3 million physical and digital units, respectively, in 2014.
  • Total sales of amiibo figures in 2014 are nearly twice the sales of Super Smash Bros. for Wii U.

Nintendo 3DS:
  • In 2014, 16 Nintendo 3DS titles sold at least 250,000 units. Of those titles, eight sold more than 500,000 units and three sold over 1 million units.
  • In 2014, the top 15 best-selling hand-held titles were all released on the Nintendo 3DS family of systems.
Nintendo is looking to ride the wave of momentum into 2015, with the launches of Splatoon, Yoshi’s Woolly World, Kirby and the Rainbow Curse, Code Name: S.T.E.A.M. and Mario Party 10. On Feb. 13, Nintendo will also launch the New Nintendo 3DS XL in the United States alongside The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask 3D.

NES Remix Pack Review

Game Overview: Try your hand at an onslaught of rapid-fire challenges and mash-ups of the greatest retro games from the NES™ era! Improve your scores by reattempting stages, then share your replays with other players online. Start out by completing simple challenges like collecting coins in the original Super Mario Bros. ™ game or reaching the finish line in one race of Excitebike™. Then, test your skills by taking on increasingly difficult challenges, like attempting to complete one level of the original Donkey Kong™ game with only a spotlight on your character!  Earn high scores to unlock more challenges, and experience Super Luigi Bros., the reverse-oriented version of the original Super Mario Bros. game featuring none other than Luigi™ himself! NES Remix II gives you the chance to try your hand at challenges from Super Mario Bros 3, Zelda II, and Kid Icarus among others.

My Thoughts: This game hits all the NES nostalgia buttons. You get a chance to play the classic games you loved playing as a kid but modified. I like that there are different challenges you must complete and as you go further in the levels the harder the challenges become. Each level lets you play the classic game and you attempt to receive 3 stars for a perfect score. I was not able to unlock an additional game until I received 100 stars and then it appears I unlock a new game ever 30 stars after that.

There were many times where I would become frustrated and just because you make it through the challenge without losing a life or being hit, you may not get those coveted 3 stars because it is also timed. Check this game out. I highly recommend it. I have the Wii U version but the game is also available on 3DS. I am sure this will be a great game to bring along when you are bored somewhere. Check the game out and share your thoughts in the comments.

The timeless adventures of Tom and Jerry are back in a brand-new TV show the whole family can enjoy! Resurrection S2 Ep.10 "Prophecy"

Recap: The episode starts with a man praying, then getting struck by lightening.  He has a strange marking on his back that looks like a tree.  He wanders around town looking for someone.  Jacob is missing with Margaret during the storm.  Lucille has flashbacks of when the old Jacob was missing and he died.  Henry and Fred go out looking for Jacob.  Margaret and Jacob are hiding out in a barn.  Margaret tells Jacob about her arranged marriage.  She believes the Langston family is cursed.  Jacob tells her that he wants to disappear with her.  Henry, Fred, and Agent Bellamy find Margaret and Jacob.  Agent Bellamy takes Jacob.  Margaret tells Fred and Henry that she has always hated them.  Jacob is angry about being taken away from Margaret.

Agent Bellamy tells Jenny he is her brother.  She is going to live with him now.  Jacob changes his mind about wanting to disappear.  Henry and Lucille argue about how Margaret has affected Jacob.  Lucille tells Henry to leave the house.  Fred takes Margaret away to turn her in to the government.  She tells him how she watched the factory workers disappear when she was 10 years old. The wanderer turns out to be Preacher James and he is "returned."  He tells Agent Bellamy that he died trying to save him from the flood.  He has been looking for him since he returned.  In a field with a crescent burn mark in the ground they see insects fly into the sky, then disappear.  Preacher James tells Agent Bellamy they need to heal the town.

Review: What an episode.  Margaret has caused so much trouble.  Everyone is sick of her.  She always kept the show interesting.   Lucille seems to have been upset with the way Margaret has controlled Henry's life for a long time.  Preacher James seems a little strange, but I can't wait to learn more about him.

What's the deal with the insects?  Should Agent Bellamy trust Preacher James?

Please let me know what your comments or thoughts are.

Epic Battle: Harry Potter vs Harry Dresden

It is time for another Epic Battle. I realize that I know of two wizards with the name Harry. Therefore I must make them battle it out to see who is the ultimate Harry!

Harry Dresden: He was thought up by the author Jim Butcher. His full name is Harry Blackstone Copperfield Dresden. He works as a supernatural private investigator and tends to run into danger to save friends.

Title: Warden, Winter Knight
Powers: Significant Magical Strength compared to others
Strengths: Elemental Fire, Kinetic Force, and Wind Spells
Other: Utilizes Earth, Lightening, Water, Ice/Cold Magic
Skills: Tracking Spells, Summoning and Entrapment spells
Weapons: Blasting Rod, Staff, Shield Bracelet, Force Rings, Duster, Silver Pentacle
Specials: Soulfire, The Sight, SoulGaze, Slow Self-Healing

Harry Potter: He was created by J.K. Rowling. His full name is Harry James Potter. He is the Head of the Auror office and Part-time Lecturer. He too likes running into danger to save his friends.

Title: The Boy Who Lived, TriWizard Champion
Powers: Significant Magical Strength compared to others
Other: Survivor of Killing Curse
Skills: Potions, Defense Against the Dark Arts, Broom Flying, Apparition
Weapons: Wand, Invisibility Cloak, Sword of Gryffindor

Specials: Patronus - Stag, Parselmouth

Who do you think would win? I personally would pick Harry Dresden. He has overall better training and more options. It appears as though the wizards in Potter World are stilted in their abilities. Dresden also will have more tools up his sleeve in which Potter will not be able to counter. Share your thoughts in the comments.
