Critter's Corner: Saturday was father and son Marvel Day and we went to see Ant-Man starring Paul Rudd as Scott Lang, Michael Douglas as Hank Pym, and Abby Ryder Fortson as Pym"s daughter Hope.
The film starts by showing convict Scott Lang in prison and takes off from there. Hank Pym created what he called the Pym Particle. This invention powered a suit (of his creation) and allows the user to shrink to the size of an ant. Pym sets up Lang to steal his suit sealing the decision to request his assistance in their words, "steal some stuff." That 'stuff' is a rival miniature suit created by a protege of Pym's (Darren Cross played by Cory Stoll) named The Yellow Jacket.
Both Jac and I loved Ant-man! The movie was never slow which was amazing for an origin movie. The Chemistry with the actors worked. The CGI scenes were amazing. The movie ties in with the other current block buster Marvel movie ,The Avengers, and added outstanding surprises throughout the film. There were small areas that could have been improved but it did not distract you that it's a good film and you are rooting for the lil guy from the beginning.
