Pistons Coming Soon to Pocket Edition and Windows 10 Players!

You may have noticed the rapidly increasing Redstone functionality in Minecraft: Pocket Edition and theMinecraft: Windows 10 Edition Beta. Today, Mojang and Microsoft are excited to deliver a sneak peek of what’s coming in the next Minecraft update – pistons!

Pistons have been a top-requested feature from the Minecraft community for a while, and we are excited to bring both standard and sticky pistons to players soon, which will enable you to build even more complex buildings and contraptions within the Pocket and Windows 10 versions of Minecraft, such as draw bridges and trap doors, to name a few.

The Rube Goldberg machine featured in the trailer released today, which was created entirely within Minecraft (music and all!) courtesy of BlockWorks and TheMusicalKnight, shows the full suite of Redstone blocks working in the Minecraft: Windows 10 Edition Beta, with pistons galore. You may even notice a Pocket Edition player joining in on the fun.

Check out the trailer for a unique teaser of what you can expect in 0.15, which we’re calling “The Friendly Update.” You’ll find out why soon! When the free update drops, you’ll also be able to download the Rube Goldberg machine featured in the trailer for free!
