Movie Trailer: T2 Trainspotting

Yes, you read the title correctly. The movie will be a continuation of the Trainspotting Saga reuniting the original characters twenty years later.

The original cast is back and are better than ever if you can consider addiction better than ever.

IMDB Storyline: First there was an opportunity......then there was a betrayal. Twenty years have gone by. Much has changed but just as much remains the same. Mark Renton (Ewan McGregor) returns to the only place he can ever call home. They are waiting for him: Spud (Ewen Bremner), Sick Boy (Jonny Lee Miller), and Begbie (Robert Carlyle). Other old friends are waiting too: sorrow, loss, joy, vengeance, hatred, friendship, love, longing, fear, regret, diamorphine, self-destruction and mortal danger, they are all lined up to welcome him, ready to join the dance.

T2 Trainspotting Official Trailer - http://bit.ly/2kctb4V

Looks like it will be an interesting ride with madness, drugs, a weird bathroom scene, and just overall mayhem. It will be a short but chaotic experience of only one hour and fifty-seven minutes. The movie is slated for a release of March 17th, 2017. Be prepared, I think that is the only thing can be said about a Trainspotting sequel. One might need to rewatch the original just to be prepared for the journey.

Online Quickplay Arrives for Rock Band Rivals

Free Update Adds Online Quickplay to Rock Band Rivals
Free Song Included in Update

Harmonix Music Systems, Inc. added Online Quickplay to Rock Band™ Rivals, an entirely new way for players to play their favorite songs with their friends, wherever they may be. With Online Quickplay, one of the Rock Band community’s most requested features, the promised feature set for Rock Band Rivals is now complete. The popular expansion has also added a dozen free songs, an all-new campaign mode and the weekly-challenge-based Rivals Mode to Rock Band 4 since it was released for $30 in October. Online Quickplay will be available to all owners of the Rock Band Rivals expansion on both Xbox One and PlayStation®4 via a free update.

Online Quickplay can be accessed via the new “Play Online” option on the Rock Band Rivals home screen. A counter has also been added to the home screen that shows how many friends are currently playing Rock Band 4.

Once players elect to play online they’ll be given the option of accepting an existing invitation or starting their own game session. From there, the player is taken to the Green Room, where the band selects instruments and gameplay options before continuing.

Once everyone’s selected an instrument and declared they’re ready to go, the band is taken to the song selection screen where each player gets to pick one song for a setlist. Only songs that every player owns are displayed in the music library, a feature new to online Rock Band play designed to speed up song selection.

Also coming this week to Rock Band Rivals owners is the free song “S.O.M.P”. What better way to celebrate the release of synchronous online multiplayer than with a brand new rock song recorded by Harmonix developers. And, since songs played in online quickplay count towards Rivals Mode challenges, you can expect to see it appear in a weekly challenge soon.

Gameplay Notes
The latest track coming to Rock Band Rivals owners for free is “S.O.M.P.” by Skratch ‘N Snyf. The tune tells a tale of a devious mastermind bent on controlling players through arcade machines – truly, a story that passes the test of time. Rock Band players will have a blast with this one; there’s plenty of shredding guitar solos throughout the tune, with a rippin’ solo towards the end which also takes place in double-time. Vocals feature a series of high notes and an incredibly long held note leading into the bridge of the song.

ComiXology Launches ComiXology Originals with Adventure Time

ComiXology Launches ComiXology Originals
with
BOOM! Studios and Cartoon Network Enterprises
Adventure Time Marshall Lee Spectacular

Available exclusively on comiXology and Kindle for $3.99 &
free to comiXology Unlimited subscribers

ComiXology, Amazon’s premier digital comic shopping & reading platform, launches their comiXology Originals program with the fun, all-ages title Adventure Time Marshall Lee Spectacular from BOOM! Studios and Cartoon Network Enterprises. Unveiled last October, comiXology Originals is a new program featuring exclusive comic content available only on comiXology and Kindle. Adventure Time Marshall Lee Spectacular is available today for $3.99 on comiXology and Kindle or free at launch to comiXology Unlimited subscribers and as part of the comiXology Unlimited 30-day free trial.

Based on Cartoon Network's Emmy and Peabody Award-winning Adventure Time, the Adventure Time Marshall Lee Spectacular from BOOM! Studios and Cartoon Network Enterprises features the fan-favorite character Marshall Lee, the Vampire King. Marshall Lee is the male counterpart of Marceline the Vampire Queen from the hugely popular Fionna and Cake universe.

Framed by a fully painted cover by cartoonist Fábio Moon (Daytripper), the 22-page Adventure Time Marshall Lee Spectacular contains three all-new original Marshall Lee stories and an original song:
“Not Funny” by writer Mariko Tamaki and artist Audrey Mok. The lead story features New York Times bestselling writer Mariko Tamaki (This One Summer, Supergirl) with artist Audrey Mok (Josie and the Pussycats) and follows Marshall Lee and his uncontrollable laughter at unfunny things.
“The Bravest Prince” by Melanie Gillman and artist Trungles. Writer Melanie Gillman (As the Crow Flies) teams up with artist Trungles (Fresh Romance) for a story in which Prince Gumball witnesses Marshall Lee’s fear of… flowers.
“Disqualified” by S.M. Vidaurri and artist Asia Kendrick-Horton. Writer S.M. Vidaurri (Jim Henson's The Storyteller: Witches) joins with artist Asia Kendrick-Horton (Steven Universe) for a story in which Prince Gumball attempts to win a competition by trying to be more villainous than Marshall Lee.
“It’s Not Hard To Be Bad” Written and drawn by S.M. Vidaurri. Vidaurri closes out the issue by composing a song for Marshall Lee to sing while playing guitar in a spectacular one pager.

In addition to this exciting launch, comiXology is having a BOOM! Studios discount sale on an array of Adventure Time comic books and trades. Readers new and old can stock up and save today through January 23rd.

"Adventure time attracts the attention of a really wide range of people, from children to adults, and what first caught my attention were creators I admire talking about the show and wanting to contribute to the comic just because they were fans,” said Fabio Moon (Two Brothers, Daytripper), cover artist for the Adventure Time Marshall Lee Spectacular. “The characters are weird enough as to be visually interesting to be interpreted in different artistic styles. I started sketching Finn and Jake, but it was great that what they really wanted the cover to focus on was Marshall Lee. Somehow, I related more with the gender-swapped versions of the characters. It's one of the best ideas of the show. I had just watched an episode that focused on Marshall Lee before doing the cover, so it came fairly quick."

"Who doesn't love Adventure Time,” said Mariko Tamaki (This One Summer, Skim), writer of the Adventure Time Marshall Lee Spectacular story “Not Funny.” “I would not like to meet such a person. I would never share a slice of cake with such a person. I love these characters!"

Launched in February 2012, BOOM! Studios’ award-winning Adventure Time comics are based on Cartoon Network’s original animated series created by Pendleton Ward. Adventure Time follows the unlikely heroes Finn and Jake, buddies who traverse the mystical Land of Ooo and encounter its colorful inhabitants—and always find themselves in the middle of heart-pounding escapades. To date, BOOM! Studios has published over 50 issues of the main Adventure Time comic series, eight original graphic novels, several spinoff limited series, and recently launched a new ongoing series called Adventure Time Comics.

“Adventure Time is and always has been, at its core, fun. Marshall Lee and Fionna are the perfect example of a desire to tell fun stories, even if it flips the apple cart,” said S.M Vidaurri (Iron) writer of the Adventure Time Marshall Lee Spectacular story “Disqualified” and writer/illustrator/composer of the story “It’s Not Hard To Be Bad.”

ComiXology Originals is a new program bringing exclusive comic content to comiXology and Kindle. In addition to Adventure Time Marshall Lee Spectacular from BOOM! Studios, the comiXology Originals lineup includes future releases from Valiant Entertainment and the legendary Harvey Kurtzman that are available for pre-order. ComiXology Originals are digital only and exclusively available for comiXology and Kindle customers. Adventure Time Marshall Lee Spectacular is also available free at launch to comiXology Unlimited subscribers and as part of the comiXology Unlimited 30-day free trial.

Batman and The Shadow come together!

DC ENTERTAINMENT, CONDÉ NAST, AND DYNAMITE ENTERTAINMENT UNITE TWO OF THE GREATEST DETECTIVES IN PUBLISHING - BATMAN AND THE SHADOW IN NEW COMIC BOOK SERIES

Writers Scott Snyder and Steve Orlando Tease a New Mystery to Be Solved This April

A new mystery begins this April as DC Entertainment, Condé Nast and Dynamite Entertainment unite Batman and The Shadow for an epic crossover. This team-up of history’s most well known vigilantes will send Batman on a quest to unlock the enigma surrounding the obscure Shadow. Writers Scott Snyder (BATMAN, ALL-STAR BATMAN) and Steve Orlando (MIDNIGHTER AND APOLLO, JUSTICE LEAGUE OF AMERICA) along with artist Riley Rossmo (BATMAN, CONSTANTINE: THE HELLBLAZER) introduce a new miniseries full of suspense, action and deadly intrigue.

“Batman is a myth that transcends the comic book page and inspires us to achieve, while The Shadow is the cornerstone of so much of the pop culture and comics we see today,” explains Orlando. “To bring together the World’s Greatest Detective and the World’s Greatest Mystery is an honor. BATMAN/THE SHADOW will pay tribute to legacies in comics and pulp fiction, as the two characters meet in a generations-deep conflict unlike any they’ve seen before, with a case that stretches back to the origins of time, and will redefine murder.”
In the six issue miniseries, murder has come to Gotham. Gotham’s protector, Batman, discovers a trail of evidence that leads to a suspect by the name of Lamont Cranston. The only problem is—Cranston has been dead for over fifty years! As Batman attempts to unravel the enigma surrounding Cranston’s life, the mysterious Shadow will do everything in his power to stop him from learning too much.

“This crossover, uniting Batman and The Shadow once again, is something we’re very enthusiastic about,” says DC Senior Vice President of Editorial Strategy & Administration Hank Kanalz. “Batman has crossed paths with some of the most legendary characters in entertainment, engaging fans from across the comics universe. The best stories delve into the core of our characters—they explore what makes them heroes. Scott Snyder, Steve Orlando and Riley Rossmo bring their unbelievable level of talent to this series that pays tribute to these characters and their incredible legacies.”
"The Shadow and Batman are two of the longest tenured pop culture icons so it's a perfect fit for them to join forces," said Cathy Hoffman Glosser, Senior Vice President of Licensing for Condé Nast. "Bringing The Shadow and Batman together in Gotham is thrilling and fans will be pleased with what is in store for them.”

“Both DC and Dynamite publish the most iconic characters in comics today, and few are as recognizable as The Shadow and Batman,” states Dynamite CEO/Publisher Nick Barrucci. “In speaking with DC about potential ventures, we both recognized that Batman and The Shadow had one of the most beloved meetings in comics, yet while brief, have remained fan favorites for many years. The time was right for the hero who recognizes that ‘villains are a superstitious, cowardly lot’ to again meet the man ‘who knows what evil lurks in the hearts of men.’ We're extremely fortunate to be launching this series with one of my favorite writers in the industry today, Scott Snyder, and one of the hottest up-and-coming writers in the industry, Steve Orlando. The art from Riley Rossmo complements the story so well. Working hand in hand with DC and Condé Nast, the creative team placed together is incredible and I can’t express how excited I am for fans to see this touchstone series.”

A return to the detective stories of the past, BATMAN/THE SHADOW #1 from Snyder, Orlando and Rossmo will debut April 26, 2017.

Hard-hitting horror series GLITTERBOMB arrives in paperback this March

HARD-HITTING HORROR SERIES GLITTERBOMB
ARRIVES IN PAPERBACK THIS MARCH
Collecting the first four issues, plus inside-Hollywood essays from Holly Raychelle Hughes

Fan-favorite writer Jim Zub (WAYWARD, SKULLKICKERS) and red-hot new artist Djibril Morissette-Phan (The Ultimates, All-New Wolverine) will release the first trade paperback collection of their explosive horror series GLITTERBOMB this March from Image Comics.

Farrah Durante is a middle-aged actress hunting for her next gig in an industry where youth trumps experience. Her frustrations become an emotional lure for something horrifying out beyond the water: something ready to exact revenge on the shallow, celebrity-obsessed culture that's led her astray.

"GLITTERBOMB is a very special project for Djibril and I,” said Zub. “Delving into the dark heart of celebrity with wonderful collaborators like K. Michael Russell, Marshall Dillon, and Holly Raychelle Hughes has been a thrill. We're excited for readers to read this opening salvo as we reload and take aim at new targets in the next story arc."

The entertainment industry feeds on our insecurities, desires, and fears. You can't toy with those kinds of primal emotions without them biting back...

GLITTERBOMB, VOLUME 1: RED CARPET (ISBN: 978-1-5343-0051-4) hits comic book stores Wednesday, March 1st and bookstores Tuesday, March 7th. It is available for preorder via Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Indiebound, and Indigo.

A stunning new beginning for Valiant’s most enduring icon launches into comics everywhere on March 22nd with X-O MANOWAR #1 – part one of “SOLDIER," a punishing, three-issue introduction that will push Aric of Dacia beyond the farthest limits of our galaxy…and into the brutal opening salvo of the ultimate X-O Manowar tale ever told!

Born under the oppressive thumb of the Roman Empire, Aric of Dacia learned warfare at an early age. It was amid such violence that he was abducted by an alien race. Forced into slavery, he survived where others perished. His escape would come from bonding with a weapon of immeasurable power: the X-O Manowar armor. With it, he returned to Earth…only to find himself stranded in the modern day.

But that was a lifetime ago.

Now, far from home on a strange and primitive new world, Aric has begun a new life. Liberated from his past, he tends to his crops. Free from war. Free from violence. Free from the armor.

But the machinery of death marches his way once again. Conscripted into an alien army and thrown into an unforgiving conflict, the fury inside him finds voice as he is forced to embrace the armor once more. With it, he will decimate armies, topple empires and incite interplanetary warfare as he rises from SOLDIER to GENERAL to EMPEROR to VISIGOTH. They wanted a weapon. He will give them war!

In the wake of “SOLDIER”’s staggering assault in issues #1-3, X-O MANOWAR then continues in 2017 and beyond as a superstar cast of Valiant’s most acclaimed artistic talents chart Aric’s path from SOLDIER to GENERAL to EMPEROR to VISIGOTH for a vicious, year-long journey of bone and bloodshed born from the battlefields of a herculean alien empire:

DARK HORSE ADAPTS MELVILLE’S WHALE OF A TALE INTO A GRAPHIC NOVEL!

Dark Horse Books is proud to announce the Vents d’Ouest graphic novel adaptation of Herman Melville’s timeless classic Moby Dick, available in English for the first time on February 8, 2017.

A masterpiece of French literary comics, this hardcover edition collects both Vents d’Ouest volumes and features illustrations by the award-winning French author and artist Christophe Chabouté (Purgatoire, Tout Seul). Striking black-and-white frames faithfully capture this Great American Novel as we follow the revenge-seeking voyage of Captain Ahab.

The graphic adaptation is perfect for literature lovers looking for a unique spin on the tale of the great white whale. The English edition includes a foreword by John Arcudi (Dead Inside, Rumble).

“No comics adaptation I’ve seen has come close to doing what Christophe Chabouté does right here in this graphic novel…His storytelling, his pacing, matches Melville’s perfectly,” said Arcudi. “He does it with obvious love for Melville’s poetic writing, and he has the advantage of a great gift for drawing that allows him to give light to those potent words. He can almost hypnotize us with his gorgeous, grand, rhythmic art.”

Moby Dick is available for preorder at Amazon, Barnes and Noble, IndieBound, Things From Another World, DarkHorse.com, and more!

THE WALKING DEAD #163 HIGHEST ORDERED COMIC IN NEARLY TWO DECADES

25¢ promotion successfully expands readership, pre-orders exceed 730,000

Image Comics partner and pop culture phenomenon Robert Kirkman and artist Charlie Adlard’s THE WALKING DEAD #163 is the Direct Market’s highest ordered comic in nearly 20 years.

As final orders rolled in this week from Diamond Comic Distributors, THE WALKING DEAD #163 pre-orders exceeded 730,000 copies—without the aid of subscription box numbers to bolster the overall total—making the goal of expanding readership through a promotional 25¢ price point an overwhelming success.

THE WALKING DEAD #163’s orders overtake every other high-charting comic in print today and surpass the orders of the Batman: The 10-Cent Adventure one-shot that topped Diamond’s unit sales charts in January 2002.

Coming on the heels of the bestselling “THE WHISPERER WAR” storyline, this issue marks the beginning of the “CONQUERED” story arc in the long-running blockbuster series and provides the perfect opportunity for discovery for new readers or fans of the hit AMC TV show to get hooked on the comic series.

Image Comics enjoys a close relationship with the Direct Market comics retailers, often incorporating retailer feedback gained through always-open lines of communication, into the company’s overall sales approach. Rather than simply circulate marketing messaging to fans encouraging consumers visit their local comic shop, Image Comics’ 25¢ initiative—which begins with the special 40-page THE WALKING DEAD #163 and continues with INVINCIBLE #133 and OUTCAST BY KIRKMAN & AZACETA #25—is a definitive and quantifiable move to pay it forward to retailers who have long supported growing the creator-owned readership.

The mission behind this promotion was not based solely on helping isolated titles gain a boost, but by increasing overall exposure through some of Image’s best-known titles. “The Direct Market helped make THE WALKING DEAD, INVINCIBLE, and OUTCAST the successful series they are today, and acknowledging that support is a big part of our agenda as Image turns 25 this year,” explained Kirkman. “Comic book stores have made it easier for us to accomplish everything we’ve done since our last anniversary, so giving back just makes sense, even though it means we’re not making a dime off these books.

“Don’t get me wrong: Charlie Adlard, Stefano Gaudiano, Cliff Rathburn, and Rus Wooton are all being compensated as usual for their contributions to THE WALKING DEAD #163, but neither myself nor Image will profit off this issue. As with most of our decisions at Image, we’re looking instead at the long-term benefits of getting more readers into stores and more of the world’s best creator-owned comics into those readers’ hands.”

Eric Stephenson, Publisher at Image Comics, added: “When we first began discussing how to celebrate our 25th anniversary, one of the first ideas that came up was offering some of our best titles at 25¢ in an effort to reach as many readers as possible. We knew we’d be selling the books at a loss—no matter how high the orders—but our number one goal is always to get books in front of as many readers as possible, and the best way to do that is by giving comic book stores something they can quite literally put in people’s hands for pocket change.”

THE WALKING DEAD #163 will be available in stores on Wednesday, February 1st—just in time for fans to celebrate “Image Day”.

INVINCIBLE #133 will be available in stores on Wednesday, February 15th.

OUTCAST BY KIRKMAN & AZACETA #25 will be available in stores on Wednesday, February 22nd.

THE WALKING DEAD #164 will hit stores on Wednesday, February 15th.

Valiant’s Fred Van Lente & Cary Nord Hold Court for IMMORTAL BROTHERS: THE TALE OF THE GREEN KNIGHT #1 – Coming in April!

Celebrate 25 Years of Archer & Armstrong, Eternal Warrior and Ivar, Timewalker with a Special 48-Page Quest into Arthurian Legend!

Valiant is proud to announce IMMORTAL BROTHERS: THE TALE OF THE GREEN KNIGHT #1 – a 48-page, standalone special reuniting Archer & Armstrong, the Eternal Warrior, and Ivar, Timewalker for a swashbuckling adventure through King Arthur’s court! On April 12th, New York Times best-selling writer Fred Van Lente (Archer & Armstrong) returns to the ageless Anni-Padda brothers with Eisner Award-winning artist and Valiant superstar Cary Nord (X-O Manowar) for the first of four oversized issues honoring the most memorable Valiant tales ever told across the summer of 2017! From ancient Mesopotamia to the streets of modern-day New York, Armstrong, Gilad, and Ivar have seen, heard, and fought it all… Now, celebrate the 25th anniversary of Valiant’s most famous band of brothers right here with a marvelously extra-long and lavishly illustrated epic of bravery and brute force in the style of Barry Windsor-Smith’s classic Archer & Armstrong/Eternal Warrior #8!

It’s winter at King Arthur’s court in Camelot! The monstrous Green Knight has appeared before the Round Table with no armor, a gigantic axe, and a challenge. He has come to insist that the weaker knights participate in a friendly “winter’s game” where anyone can strike him once with his axe, but on one condition: That the Green Knight can return the exact blow in one year’s time. King Arthur has agreed to face the mysterious knight himself, but the Round Table’s youthful and most gallant champion, Sir Gilad, takes up the challenge to protect his king. Much to the court’s surprise, the Green Knight doesn’t flinch as his head is struck clean off…only to pick it up himself and warn Gilad that he is fated to receive the same blow before the year is out. Now, Gilad – the Eternal Warrior – must solve the mystery of who the Green Knight is before his hour at the axe comes to pass! But first, he’ll need to find some help...in the form of his own immortal brothers – Armstrong and Ivar – who shall be united once more!

“Aram is super-strong, Ivar is super-smart, and Gilad is super-brutal. That leads to radically different worldviews. So when thrown together, they have completely different approaches to solving problems,” writer Fred Van Lente told ComicBook.com. “Thus, they bicker constantly whenever they're together—they are constantly trying to one-up each other, and prove their way is right.”

On April 12th, the Valiant Universe’s three immortal adventurers are going down in history when all-star creators Fred Van Lente and Cary Nord bring Archer & Armstrong, the Eternal Warrior, and Ivar, Timewalker together for a centuries-spanning journey into lore and legend! It all starts here with an oversized, 48-page saga of Valiant’s most noble heroes past and present, in IMMORTAL BROTHERS: THE TALE OF THE GREEN KNIGHT #1 – featuring covers by Eisner Award-winning artist Cary Nord (Conan), Valiant-exclusive superstar Mico Suayan (Bloodshot Reborn), acclaimed artist Marc Laming (Ninjak), and rising star J.M. Dragunas!

Nintendo Announces Fire Emblem Games for Mobile, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo 3DS

Multiple Games in the Series Are in Development – the First Launches Feb. 2

Nintendo surprised Fire Emblem fans via a Nintendo Direct announcement with the news that multiple games from the hit strategy-RPG franchise are in development. These include a new game for smart devices, two games for Nintendo Switch and multiple games for the Nintendo 3DS family of systems. There’s no question that this is by far the most fiery, most emblematic Nintendo Direct ever.

“In recent years, the popularity of the Fire Emblem franchise has grown exponentially,” said Doug Bowser, Nintendo of America’s Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing. “The devoted fan base and series newcomers alike will soon have an abundance of new games to play on a variety of devices. There’s never been a better time to be a Fire Emblem fan or jump in for the first time.”

Below is a sampling of the news that Nintendo announced. To view the Nintendo Direct video in its entirety, visit http://nintendo.com/nintendo-direct.

  • Fire Emblem Heroes comes to smart devices: Nintendo launches its next adventure when Fire Emblem Heroes arrives soon on mobile. For detailed information about release timings by platform, please check https://fire-emblem-heroes.com/. Fire Emblem Heroes is an original strategy RPG about two warring kingdoms in a bitter clash. As a summoner, players build their army by calling upon popular Fire Emblem heroes from worlds that span the breadth of the series. Players will wage tactical battles streamlined for on-the-go play and level up a mix of new combatants and legendary heroes. Some familiar hero characters will become allies, while others will become enemy generals. Players can enjoy the full majesty of tactical role playing on bite-sized maps designed to fit nicely on a smartphone screen, even when playing in short bursts. Players lead their armies with easy touch-and-drag controls, including the ability to attack by simply swiping an ally hero over an enemy. If they manage to defeat every enemy on a given map, victory will be theirs. The heroes are depicted in new art hand-drawn by a variety of illustrators, and their voices have been newly recorded. Beyond the main story mode, players can engage in other modes to strengthen their army or to compete against others. Free and timely updates will add new characters and content for additional hours of gameplay as well. Fire Emblem Heroes will be available as a free download with optional in-app purchases available. Visit the Fire Emblem Heroes website for details about pre-registration.
    • To prepare for the launch of Fire Emblem Heroes, today Nintendo kicks off the Fire Emblem Heroes: Choose Your Legends event. Fans can visit https://events.fire-emblem-heroes.com/vote to browse through characters from the Fire Emblem franchise and select the ones they’d like to see make an appearance in Fire Emblem Heroes. The global community’s top-ranked hero and heroine will then be featured in Fire Emblem Heroes as Choose Your Legends event characters. Nintendo Account holders will receive a Platinum point bonus for voting.
  • Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia: In 1992, the second game in the Fire Emblem series, Fire Emblem Gaiden, launched exclusively in Japan. Now, for the first time, fans outside of Japan will get a taste of this classic game on the Nintendo 3DS family of systems. Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia is inspired by the 1992 original, reimagined on a grander scale. Every aspect of the Fire Emblem Gaiden game’s presentation has been updated, along with the game being fully voiced. Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia recreates classic Fire Emblem gameplay with a modern twist, mixing in exploration of dungeons crawling with enemies. Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia will launch on the Nintendo 3DS family of systems May 19. Characters from the game, Alm and Celica, will be available as amiibo figures in a two-pack, also on May 19.
  • Fire Emblem meets KOEI TECMO GAMES’ Warriors series: Fire Emblem Warriors is coming to both the Nintendo Switch and New Nintendo 3DS systems, which includes New Nintendo 3DS and New Nintendo 3DS XL. It’s being developed by the team that created Hyrule Warriors, and is scheduled to launch this fall.
  • Fire Emblem is coming to Nintendo Switch: For the first time since Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn on the Wii console in 2007, a new mainline game in the series is being developed for a Nintendo home system, with the ability to also be played on the go! The new game is scheduled to launch in 2018. Nintendo Switch goes on sale March 3 at a suggested retail price of $299.99, and lets players take their home games with them wherever they go (games sold separately).

Legendary Writer/Artist Geof Darrow’s "Shaolin Cowboy" Returns in 2017

Get a kung-fu grip on yourself as Geof Darrow’s blood-spattered killing machine the Shaolin Cowboy returns this April in a new four-issue mini-series to be published by Dark Horse Comics. The Shaolin Cowboy: Who’ll Stop the Reign? will be written and illustrated by Darrow, who has won the Inkpot Award and won (and lost) multiple Eisner Awards, and colored by the Eisner Award-winning Dave Stewart. The first issue will have a main cover by Darrow and Stewart and a variant cover by the award-winning Frank Miller, Darrow’s co-contributor on Hard Boiled and Big Guy and Rusty the Boy Robot. In The Shaolin Cowboy: Who’ll Stop the Reign?, the titular hero of the series finds that his road to hell is paved not with good intentions but old nemeses hell bent on bloody revenge.

In addition to the chainsaw-fueled adventures of the Shaolin Cowboy, Darrow is renowned for his early work with Moebius, his designs for television (including Super Friends, Richie Rich, and Pac-Man) and films (including The Matrix and Speed Racer), his collaborations with Frank Miller and Andrew Vachss, and his iconic and detailed comic book covers.

“For a press release about a comic known for not having much dialogue, this press release sure has a lot of words in it,” said Darrow.

Before he was a Three-time Eisner Award winner, Geof Darrow was born in Cedar Rapids, IA. He is an ex-altar boy, garden mechanic and boom operator on a soft-core adult film. He resides in Chicago IL and his artwork inspires and disillusions fans and artists alike.
