New ‘Capcom Creators’ Program Celebrates Passionate Community, Offers Exclusive Incentives, Resources and More

Capcom, a leading worldwide developer and publisher of video games, today announced the launch of a new content creator program, “Capcom Creators.” This initiative celebrates and connects with the passionate community of fans who utilize Capcom’s iconic games from beloved brands such as Resident Evil™, Monster Hunter™ and Street Fighter™ to make videos, livestreams, fan art, cosplay, and more. Capcom aims to build deeper, ongoing relationships with creators through dedicated resources and incentives, in addition to spotlighting prominent and positive voices in the community.
 
Capcom Creators members will be equipped with resources to help make content for Capcom’s deep library of award-winning and best-selling titles. Creators will have access to tools such as regular newsletters highlighting the latest games and opportunities, as well as a dedicated private Discord server to connect with program managers and fellow creators. To help expand their online followings, members may have the benefit of seeing their work recognized and amplified on Capcom’s social and video channels.
 
The program also offers the opportunity for creators to receive exclusive incentives that inspire their ongoing love and support of Capcom’s titles. In addition to tailored digital asset packs, members have the chance to receive care packages with special merchandise. They may also request codes for highly anticipated games they would like to create content for, including Capcom’s upcoming acclaimed action RPG, Monster Hunter Rise™, releasing for PC on Jan. 12.

Relive the Award-Winning Space Opera in Mass Effect Legendary Edition on May 14

One person is all that stands between humanity and the greatest threat it’s ever faced. BioWare, a studio of Electronic Arts Inc. (NASDAQ: EA) today revealed that the Mass Effect™ Legendary Edition will launch May 14 worldwide on PC via Origin and Steam, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One with forward compatibility on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The Mass Effect Legendary Edition features the single-player base content and 40+ downloadable content (DLC) story, weapons and armor packs from Mass Effect, Mass Effect 2, and Mass Effect 3 and will allow players to relive the legend of Commander Shepard in 4K Ultra HD with HDR.

“It’s been an incredible journey revisiting the stories, characters and iconic moments of the Mass Effecttrilogy, enhancing the experience for modern platforms while staying true to the spirit of the original,” said Mac Walters, Project Director on the Mass Effect Legendary Edition and lead writer of the original trilogy at BioWare. “Remastering a game, let alone three, is a huge undertaking as there’s over 100 hours of gameplay included, but we wanted to do this for our fans as well as a new generation of gamers looking to jump into the iconic story of Shepard.”

The Mass Effect Legendary Edition will deliver an enhanced visual experience featuring remastered character models and tens of thousands of up-ressed textures. Improvements to shaders and VFX, updated lighting and improved dynamic shadows, volumetrics and depth-of-field add a new level of immersion across the trilogy. Pre-rendered cinematics have also been enhanced to make every story moment feel even more impactful.

The original Mass Effectgame features comprehensive world-building enhancements with added detail and depth to locations like Eden Prime, Ilos and Feros that players will explore in their journey across the galaxy. Mass Effect also includes updated interfaces and UI as well as a variety of quality of life improvements. In addition, combat and exploration are modernized through improved aiming, squad controls and behavior, Mako handling and cameras.
The Mass Effect Legendary Edition features unified character creation options that persists across all three titles and is complete with an improved and expanded selection of hair, makeup and skin tone options. The iconic Female Shepard default appearance from Mass Effect 3 is now available as the default female Shepard appearance in character creation in all three games, further adding to the unified experience across the trilogy.

Mass Effect Legendary Edition is rated M (Mature) by the ESRB and is available now for pre-order on PC via Origin and Steam, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One with forward compatibility on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.

SQUARE ENIX ANNOUNCES ‘ENDWALKER’ – THE LATEST EXPANSION FOR FINAL FANTASY XIV ONLINE

 

PlayStation®5 Version of the Critically Acclaimed MMO Also Announced

SQUARE ENIX® today unveiled Endwalker™, the highly anticipated fourth expansion pack for FINAL FANTASY® XIV Online, the award-winning MMO with over 20 million registered players.

Scheduled to release fall 2021 for PC, the PlayStation®5, the PlayStation®4 and Mac, Endwalker features the climax of the Hydaelyn and Zodiark story, in which Warriors of Light will encounter an even greater calamity than ever before as they travel to the far reaches of Hydaelyn and even to the moon. In addition to bringing the long-running story arc that began with A Realm Reborn™ to its conclusion, Endwalker will mark a new beginning for the beloved MMO, setting the stage for new adventures that longtime fans and new players can enjoy together.

During the showcase, Yoshida also revealed the upcoming PlayStation 5 version of FINAL FANTASY XIV Online, scheduled to launch into open beta on April 13, 2021. The PlayStation 5 version will feature numerous upgrades from the PlayStation 4 version, including significantly improved frame rates, faster load times, 4K resolution support and more. Players whose FINAL FANTASY XIV Online service account has a registered license for the PlayStation 4 version may download and play the PlayStation 5 Upgrade Version at no extra cost at the start of the open beta period, while new players can experience the game on the PlayStation 5 through the Free Trial. The full version of the game will be available on PlayStation 5 following the conclusion of the open beta.

Ghosts and Goblins Resurrection

 

As per Capcom PR Team: At The Game Awards 2020, Capcom announced Ghosts ‘n Goblins Resurrection and Capcom Arcade Stadium, two new titles for the Nintendo Switch™ system that pay homage to some of Capcom’s most revered arcade classics. Providing a modern take on a beloved franchise, Ghosts ‘n Goblins Resurrection will bring a haunting new adventure to life starting February 25, 2021, when it releases digitally across North America and Europe on Nintendo Switch for MSRP $29.99. For old-school fans and arcade novices alike, Capcom Arcade Stadium will usher 32 classic Capcom titles out of arcade machines and onto Nintendo Switch™ when it releases digitally in February 2021. About Ghosts ‘n Goblins Resurrection:
The legendary platforming series rises again, as Ghosts ‘n Goblins Resurrection marks the heroic return of the series, which debuted over 35 years ago. Paying homage to Ghosts ‘n Goblins and Ghouls ‘n Ghosts, the latest entry combines the franchise’s action platforming gameplay with storybook-like graphics and challenging new obstacles. The new entry will once again follow the valiant knight Arthur as he runs, jumps and battles his way through eerie stages set in the Demon Realm, a demonic fantasy world. Arthur must overcome countless ghoulish foes on his quest to rescue the princess from the treacherous grasp of the Demon Lord. To progress through the Demon Realm, Arthur must utilize everything at his disposal, from tried-and-true weapons like the Lance and Dagger to all-new additions like the Hammer and Spiked Ball. Arthur’s updated arsenal also includes various types of skills and magic, allowing players to bring game-changing spells like Firewall and Thunderstorm into combat. Capcom Arcade Stadium will allow players to bring home the electrifying thrill of an arcade with 32 action-packed classics, which includes a free download of 1943 - The Battle of Midway - and the original Ghosts ‘n Goblins as a stand-alone add-on. Retro fans can then choose to purchase up to three different arcade packs that highlight a different era of Capcom arcade goodness, from ‘80s classics like BIONIC COMMANDO and STRIDER to ‘90s favorites like SUPER STREET FIGHTER II TURBO. Players can also purchase the all-in pack containing all three packs of 10 games in addition to the Ghosts ‘n Goblins stand-alone add-on for maximum retro nostalgia. Life Imitates Comic Book Art in Batman: Creature of the Night

Every Batman fan has dreamed of becoming the Dark Knight—putting on the cowl, firing up the Batmobile and heading out to take on the Joker. However, we’d imagine that very few of them have dreamed about being Bruce Wayne as a child. While having your own Batcave and hanging with the Justice League would be fun, the important tragedy it took for Bruce Wayne to get there is often overlooked.

That’s not the case in this fall’s new Batman miniseries, BATMAN: CREATURE OF THE NIGHT, in which a young Batman fan faces a childhood that suddenly becomes unbearably similar to his hero’s. Written by Kurt Busiek (ASTRO CITY), drawn by John Paul Leon (MOTHER PANIC) and set outside of regular continuity, Creature of the Night is a four-issue, prestige format limited series set in Boston in 1968. Bruce Wainwright is a comic book-reading kid whose obsession with the Caped Crusader leads him to some very dark places which he must ultimately confront when his parents are murdered after walking in on a robbery. It’s a story about loss and confronting your inner demons in the face of that loss that takes a turn towards the unusual when a familiar-looking crimefighter begins to appear on the city streets.

If this is sounding at all similar to Busiek’s classic Superman tale, SUPERMAN: SECRET IDENTITY, that’s no coincidence. Billed as a spiritual companion to that 2004 limited series, it also offers a real-world analog to a well-known comic book legend. But the similarities stop there and fans can expect plenty of surprises when Batman: Creature of the Night emerges in November.

BLACK LIGHTNING: COLD DEAD HANDS + "BATS OUT OF HELL" + HAWKMAN FOUND

Jefferson Pierce is having quite a year. He’ll soon join The CW’s super hero lineup with a greatly anticipated new show. And now, we’re happy to announce that he’s returning to the comic racks as well with a new six-issue miniseries written by Tony Isabella, who originally created the character with Trevor Von Eeden.

BLACK LIGHTNING: COLD DEAD HANDS is written by Isabella and drawn by Clayton Henry (Harbinger). However, don’t expect a throwback to Isabella’s previous time with the character. While the hallmarks of a good Black Lightning comic are all there, Jefferson’s gone through some changes. He’s still a teacher who works to be a positive force for his students both in and out of costume, but he’s younger than he’s ever been before—around 28 years old. He’s also not married and in a departure from the show, he doesn’t have daughters.

Jefferson does, however, still have a very big problem by the name of Tobias Whale. But Black Lightning’s notorious adversary has gone through some redesigning as well. He’s now fit, built like an athlete, and he’s no longer an albino. But don’t think it’s made Tobias Whale any smaller of a problem for Jefferson or the city of Cleveland, in which the series is based. He’s as ruthless and powerful as ever.

With Black Lightning’s CW series set to bring more awareness to the groundbreaking character than ever before, the timing has never been better for Lightning’s return to the DC Universe. Cold Dead Hands promises to be a fitting introduction to the world of Jefferson Pierce for new readers and a very welcome return for longtime fans, penned by the man who knows the supercharged hero better than anyone.
