Available November 1 for Season Pass holders as part of the early access Developer Playlist, Checkout and Dry Dock will also be introduced into free public playlists on November 8. The Walking Dead Season 7 ep. 2 "The Well " Recap

Recap: Episode starts with a recap reminding viewers where we left Carol and Morgan. Carol is slowly waking up and seeing that she is being taken somewhere. Then the scene changes and they are overrun by walkers. Carol is hallucinating and limps off. More people on horses come and take out the extra walkers while Carol keeps seeing the walkers turn into real people. They continue on their journey to take Carol to somewhere that she can get help. Morgan is there when she wakes up from a two day sleep. We see the town, "The Kingdom" being run pretty nicely. Morgan takes Carol to the leader known as King Ezekiel. We meet Ezekiel and Shiva! Shiva is a bit on edge about Carol but Ezekiel says welcome. Ezekiel is so cool and smooth with how he talks. Ezekiel says if you drink from the well, you replenish the well - basically if you take then you must give back. Carol is playing up the sweet lady act which kind of annoys me as Ezekiel is awesome. Carol tells Morgan that she plans to go when no one is watching and Morgan lets her know that he will not let her die out there.

Ezekiel takes Morgan hunting with the group. They capture hogs by feeding them a walker. The two trucks break up and Ezekiel explains that the truck is going somewhere else. Ezekiel asks Morgan to train the one young soldier, Ben. You see a human side to Ezekiel expressing his need for Ben to live. Such fun choir music playing in the background as Carol sits and contemplates life. Carol is using her wheelchair to get around and grabs a knife and chocolate while others are not looking. Morgan continues to work with Ben. Carol is smiling and talking to a town person and distracts him so she can take some clothes. Ben asks to read the philosophy book that Morgan carries around with him. Ezekiel shares a secret with Morgan and the costs that he must pay. We see a couple of Negan's people show up. They are there to take the hogs that have been well fed on walkers (oh I love it!) Morgan asks why he was wanted there and Ezekiel says it was not for him to kill.

Ben shares with Morgan that Ben's father died clearing out a building. Ben talks about how Ezekiel does not want to fight the other group. Morgan goes to find Carol and notes that she is gone. Carol is taking some fruit and Ezekiel shows up and lights a fire. Ezekiel points out that she is leaving suddenly. Ezekiel asks Jerry to give them some space. Ezekiel calls Carol out on her sweet and innocent act. Carol tells him that he is a joke. Ezekiel gives real talk about how he become the leader and how he was originally a zookeeper. Carol says that she just wants to go away. Ezekiel tries to talk Carol into not running off and he wants to help her. Carol and Morgan are on horses going to the house that they originally passed when first coming through. The house is surrounded by a strong fence and Morgan tells her to take care of herself. They part ways and Carol heads into the house as her new residence. There's a knock on the door but she hears Shiva growl and Ezekiel is there offering her a pomegranate that she originally refused.

Fangirl Thoughts: Ezekiel and Shiva! I remember when I first read the comics and I had to flip back and forth to make sure that I was understanding what I was reading. I had to say to myself, does this man legit have a tiger! Once I recognized that what I was reading was legit, I couldn't help but to fall in love with the character and his very quirky ways. I enjoy the story of Shiva. She is man's best friend!

This is a much lighter episode which is what we needed to clean our palette. I think Ezekiel delivered the character and I look forward to seeing Rick meet him. So I guess since Michonne is taking that Ezekiel's love interest will be Carol since she calls him out. Overall I look forward to seeing how this goes.

A brand-new rock ‘n’ roll secret history series

From fan-favorite writer Joe Harris (SNOWFALL, The X-Files) and mega-talented newcomer artist Megan Hutchison comes ROCKSTARS, an all-new ongoing series from Image Comics this December.

When a pattern of unsolved “groupie” murders from the 1970s resumes in present-day Los Angeles, nobody makes the connection except Jackie Mayer, a rock nerd with a strange connection to music’s urban legends and lost history. Together with muckraking music writer Dorothy Buell, they soon uncover a vast conspiracy involving a legendary band, demonic possession, and sacrifices to the dark gods of rock.

“Rock 'n' roll history is filled with the kinds of super-powered beings and colorful characters I was awed by growing up, and bringing that mystique, glamour, pageantry, and power to comics is something I've wanted to do for a long time,” said Harris. “This is my love letter to the bands, era, and music I adore and which has captured my imagination like little else for what feels like forever. Honestly, I feel like I've been writing this series, in my head and heart, since I was 8 years old.”

“I’ve yet to work on a project that has challenged and excited me the way ROCKSTARS has,” said Hutchison. “From the music to the costumes to the characters and the settings, ROCKSTARS is a rich world of horror, humor, mystery, and bad-assness."

ROCKSTARS #1 hits comic book stores on Wednesday, December 14th.

Much in the same vein of Final Fantasy VII Advent Children, SquareEnix has decided to release a feature length movie based on the Final Fantasy XV game that is due out in November. I will be honest with you Square Enix knows how to do CGI. One of this movie’s strengths is in the CGI that is used to create the world. Much like Advent Children there is a lot to like here but just like Advent Children I think this will be one of those films that fans get but general movie going public more than likely won’t and I completely understand why. The film stands strong in the action and visual department but is lacking in the story department. To Square’s defense this movie is set up as a prelude/prequel to the game itself. So you won’t be seeing Noctis and his friends but you will be seeing other characters and their particular journey’s that led to some of the decisions that I can only guess will be cleared up in the game.

I did like the voice acting and soundtrack as there were a lot of recognizable tunes from the Final Fantasy World. They got some pretty good voice actors for this film as well. Lena Headey, Sean Bean, and Aaron Paul are the more recognizable actors doing work on this film. Just so you know Sean Bean does die in this, I guess that #SaveSeanBean hashtag movement wasn’t enough this time. As far as the story is concerned it feels disjointed at times and there are certain plot points that don’t get resolved. My only thinking is that they will be resolved in game. I know that some people will hold it against the movie but if you remember this movie was initially supposed to be released alongside the game on 09/30 of this year. With that in mind I think it’s unfortunate that some people are holding that against this movie especially knowing that the game is on its way. The one thing that I did find an issue was that it did get predictable especially during the climatic fight scene. A lot of the characters you can pretty much tell are shady and should not be trusted, it’s that obvious. My last issue I had was with the fight against the main villain at the end. The way that it is shot and due to what is happening at the time it is hard to see what’s going on while they are fighting. It reminded me of the fight in Suicide Squad and how that fight was handled. Not bad, but it became hard to see due to the environment and what was going on at that particular moment.

For Parents

It’s your standard action movie. I will say this though, if they have seen Advent Children Complete then this is no problem. There is some light language and some of the deaths that happen, happen off screen. It’s not gory in the slightest. I mean Advent Children Complete showed Cloud getting stabbed multiple times and nothing that bad happens in this movie. It doesn’t have the best pacing but I was never truly bored watching the movie as the way they show the action and magic was pretty cool.

The Verdict

This is a solid RENTAL from me. Its not good its not bad but it is one of those films where I can see people not watching too often. Final Fantasy fans are going to love this but I think the casual fan will probably just watch it to get the story before they start the game. I will say this, however, if you are planning to get the game I would at least watch it before starting the game. I just feel like certain story elements will be touched upon maybe even wrapped up in the game.

‘Batman ’66 Meets Wonder Woman ’77’ will launch Digitally November 23

Things are about to get a little groovier for the 1960s BATMAN comic book series! At today’s Wonder Woman 75th anniversary panel at New York Comic Con, DC announced the all-new Digital First title BATMAN ’66 MEETS WONDER WOMAN ’77. Co-written by BATMAN ’66 veteran Jeff Parker and WONDER WOMAN ’77 writer Marc Andreyko, the best of the ‘60s and ‘70s will come together in this action-packed miniseries based on the classicBatman TV show staring Adam West and Burt Ward, and the fan-favorite Wonder Woman TV series starring Lynda Carter.

Parker is no stranger to the BATMAN ’66 universe, having served as the series writer on the inaugural BATMAN ’66 comic in 2013 and the BATMAN ’66 MEETS THE MAN FROM U.N.C.L.E. crossover series earlier this year.

“Readers have asked for this team-up since the BATMAN ’66 comic began and I’m thrilled we’re able to finally make it happen,” said Parker. “Most of the credit goes to Marc Andreyko. He found me at a show and within minutes had me fired up about the story possibilities. It really feels like Lynda Carter and Adam West going into action again, this time together.”

Joining Parker, Andreyko—the original writer of the acclaimed WONDER WOMAN ’77 comic book series—will lend his hand to the new miniseries.

“It was BATMAN ’66 by Jeff Parker that inspired me to ask about doing WONDER WOMAN ’77, so getting to co-write with him is a dream come true,” said Andreyko. “The story we’re spinning spans thirty years as these two legendary Super Heroes fight an ancient evil across the decades. We’ve planned lots of twists, cameos and surprises along the way that fans of both series will appreciate.”

Also announced on the panel in New York, the 12-chapter series will launch digitally November 23, releasing new chapters every other week, and will feature art from popular artists David Hahn and Karl Kesel and cover art by Michael Allred.

Following the November digital launch, the comic will later be offered as a six-issue print series with the first issue debuting in January 2017.

Recap: The Walking Dead Season 7 ep. 1 "The day will come when you won't be"

Recap: Episode starts with Negan and his blood covered Lucille and Rick swears vengeance even while on his knees. He drags Rick to the camper to have a discussion. Negan laughs at Rick for his "I am going to kill you" speech. He taunts Rick into trying to kill him but maintains the upper hand the whole time. (Not sure why Rick thought he had a chance) Negan drives the camper and kills some walkers while Rick is having flashbacks of his people all on their knees with one of them waiting to die. Negan reminds him that everything is his. Negan taunts him more and tells him to think about what happened.

Rick is on top of the camper reliving the moment Negan is deciding who he is going to kill. He picks Abraham and proceeds to beat in his skull in front of everyone. Everyone is devastated as Negan continues to beat in his skull and we get a pretty nasty image of Abraham's head that is no longer recognizable. (and this is why the comic is in black and white) Daryl stands up and punches Negan but is quickly is wrestled to the ground. Negan  then goes and bashes in Glenn's skull and we get that messed up image of his eye popping out and trying to talk. It is a messed up gory moment. Everyone is crying and upset at this moment. There is a great image of Negan bashing him in and blood flying. Again another bloody gory image. Back to current time with Rick still laying on top of the camper that is surrounded by walkers.

Rick is forced to run and find the ax and has flashbacks of everyone being hit by Lucille as he kills walkers to get back to the camper. Rick gives Negan the ax and has the nerve to say "attaboy". He drives the camper back and he talks to Rick and reminds him that he is no longer in charge but instead works for him. Negan cleans off the ax and hands it back to Rick. Rick is dragged from the camper back to the clearing with all his people. Negan says that the whole camper trip was to change how Rick is looking at him but he is still looking at him wrong. Rick's people now have guns to the back of their heads and Negan gives Rick one last chance. Negan tells Carl to come close. He ties his belt around Carl's arm and is told to lay down next to Rick. Negan uses a marker to draw a line on Carl's arm. Negan tells Rick to take the ax and cut Carl's arm off at that line if he doesn't everyone will die. Rick begs for it to be him instead. Carl tells his father to just do it. Rick picks up the ax and Negan stops him right before and reminds Rick that he belongs to him and Negan says that is the look he wanted to see. Negan makes another speech saying that it is over now. Dwight grabs Daryl and loads him into the back of a van and Negan says he is mine now. Negan says they will be back for the first offering in one week and all his people walk away.

Sad music time as Negan's people leave Rick's people in shambles. Maggie stands up and wants to fight and says she will get to the hilltop and she needs the rest of them to go back. Sasha stands up and says she will take Maggie there and make sure she gets there safe. Everyone steps up to handle the bodies. Rick has a vision of everyone happy and eating like Negan taunted and it's bittersweet. Rick hops into the camper and starts to drive away and sees a walker in come into the clearing starts to eat the bloody remains of his friends.

Fangirl Thoughts: I thought the Season Finale of season 6 was our foreplay and that we will finally know who met Lucille. I am frankly disappointed that we are almost twenty minutes in to the next episode and still do not know who died just a bunch of Rick's guilt filled flashbacks. They should just tell us who died already. That should have been the first thing that was revealed. The big reveal finally happens (Abraham and Glen meet Lucille) and frankly we could have had that from the beginning instead of dealing with all the flashback crap.

A gory death for two people  was a bit much but I am enjoying the blood. I guess since the season finale made me so mad that I am happy to have people die. Frankly he could have killed a few more and cut off someone's arm and I would have been alright. Either way I think that the show needs to work on its pacing. I look forward to seeing how this turns out.
