Can't be at a convention without some Deadpools

Fangirl's Review: This was my first time at Baltimore Comic Con. I sadly could not arrive until Sunday due to other obligations. The Baltimore Convention was very spacious and staff were so helpful. I enjoyed the organization of the floor and the panels.

I was able to sit in on two panels, Spotlight on Kate Cassidy and Spotlight on Edward James Olmos. Kate Cassidy was so nice to her fans and entertained them with great stories from her time on Supernatural and Arrow. I truly enjoyed the Edward James Olmos panel. He told the best stories from all the different shows he has been on and provided great talk. I always enjoy listening to actors share behind the scenes stories.

The exhibit hall provided great steals. The comics and Pop figurines were everywhere. If there was something that you were looking for then you would get it. I also picked up a fun mystery box that also was a wearable head which frankly I had to much fun with.

Overall I had a great time at the convention. My only complaint is that you were not given an official badge but rather wrist bands. Overall I would recommend this con to the Comic book enthusiast.

BLACK MAGICK CASTS ITS SPELL

The all-new paranormal noir series by Rucka and Scott launches just in time for Halloween. New York Times bestselling and Eisner Award-winning writer Greg Rucka (LAZARUS, Stumptown, Gotham Central) and superstar artist Nicola Scott (Birds of Prey, Secret Six, Earth 2) team up for BLACK MAGICK—a new gothic-noir ongoing series about legacy, destiny, redemption… and the price of magic. The new series was first announced at Image Expo and launches from Image Comics on Wednesday, October 28th, just in time for Halloween.

In BLACK MAGICK #1 Detective Rowan Black works robbery/homicide for the Portsmouth PD, but her greatest mystery is the truth about herself… both who she has been, and who she will become. Yet, there are others in Rowan's world with very long memories, and the power that one person holds, another will always covet.

“Nic and I have been living with Rowan for so long, now, working on this series in some way, shape, or form for years, and to see it become manifest, to finally share it with others, that’s both exciting and, honestly, a little nerve-wracking,” said Rucka. “Rowan’s one of the most complicated people I’ve ever tried to bring to life on the page. She’s got some very rough edges, some very sharp corners, and in many ways she is her own worst enemy. But for all that, her story is one that both Nic and I are genuinely passionate about telling, and I think that shines through on every page.”

Steeped in mystery, suspense, the many myths of witchcraft, and Wiccan tradition, each issue of BLACK MAGICK will also feature an all-new work of original fiction by Greg Rucka.

BLACK MAGICK #1 will be available on Wednesday, October 28th. Cover B by Jill Thompson. A magazine-size variant by Rich Burchett will also be available.
