Undead Storm Nightmare Review

This game is the sequel to Undead Storm on DSiWare. In this game you fight off the hordes of zombies. This time around the zombies are bigger, bloodier, and more gruesome. You will find yourself equipping an assault rifle, rocket launcher, chainsaw, or a samurai sword. Upgrade your weapons. The premise of upgrading your games is pretty simple. As you run through the board destroy boxes for much needed supplies. These supplies can then be used for upgrading. It can vary in terms of the amount of supplies needed. 

The Nightwalker patrols the streets. You can see her on your screen luckily so you can work to avoid her. So far I have personally stayed away from her but I might purposely trigger "Nightmare Time" just to see what it is like. Apparently she will call massive amounts of zombies to your position and according to the game no one has ever survived. There is a local play mode in which you can play with up to 3 friends. The game will cost you $4.99 in the eShop. 

My Thoughts:

The game is an easy play in terms of the controls. I like the simplicity of the game. The bosses are difficult enough that you do not feel cheated but are not so hard that you just quit the game all together. If you enjoy simple zombie shooters then this is the game for you.

Patrick Brice's THE OVERNIGHT Coming Soon!

Synopsis: Alex, Emily, and their son, RJ, have recently moved to Los Angeles’ Eastside from Seattle. Feeling lost in a new city, they are desperate to find their first new friends. After a chance meeting with Kurt at the neighborhood park, they gladly agree to join family pizza night at the home. But as it gets later and the kids go to bed, the family “playdate” becomes increasingly more revealing and bizarre as the couples begin to open up.

Writer/director Patrick Brice’s second feature is a painfully funny take on thirty something sexual frustration and parenthood. Featuring memorable lead performances by Taylor Schilling, Adam Scott, Jason Schwartzman, and Judith Godrèche, each actor nimbly balances the script’s sudden emotional turns from surprising honesty to complete embarrassment. Produced by Gettin' Rad and the Duplass Brothers, THE OVERNIGHT tells a complex story of universal inadequacies.

THE OVERNIGHT premiered at the 2015 Sundance Film Festival and will be released by The Orchard on June 19, 2015.

Celebrate Splatoon with 10 Fun Facts About Squids

In advance of the launch of Nintendo's new game Splatoon for the Wii U on May 29th, Nintendo compiled a list of fun and interesting facts about squids. In case you aren't aware, the "Inkling" main characters in the game can transform into squids during gameplay to swim over the surface and up the walls. 

10 Fun Facts About Squids:

1. Squid have gills just like fish. They are often mistaken for octopus. While the two are similar they are different types of creatures.
2. Every squid has three hearts. They also move through the water tail first instead of head first.
3. The ink sac can be triggered to release this black substance very rapidly.
4. The Humboldt squid is very aggressive and will even attack sharks in the water.
5. The only predators that giant squid have are sperm whales.
6. Some species of squid are able to glow in the dark, which makes them easier to spot in the dark waters! Research shows this is due to them having bioluminescent organs.
7. The giant squid have eyeballs that are the same size as a standard basketball - a helpful defense mechanism in the water that allows them to spot their surroundings more easily.
8. Squid are believed to be the fastest of all invertebrates in the world. The giant squid is the largest invertebrate in the world.
9. Even though 300 species of squid have been identified and classified, it is believed there are at least 200 more that still need to be evaluated. Now that's a lot of squid!
10. Some species of squid have been found to live more than 13,000 feet deep in the water - that's about 43 football fields in length.

Age Of Ultron Pinball DLC Coming Soon

Zen Studios has announced a new table for its virtual pinball empire, based on Marvel's upcoming superhero movie. Marvel's Avengers: Age of Ultron sets up the clash between obviously the Avengers and the misunderstood Ultron. On this new table each member of the superhero super-squad is featured in their own mode, which is activated by shooting their ramp multiple times.. These modes range from saving civilians as Captain America to sniping down Ultron sentries as Hawkeye, to pacifying an enraged Hulk with Iron Man. Unique features include a variable difficulty level that affects mode time limits and the pitch of the table, and an open ramp that makes locking your ball in the Avengers Tower particularly tricky. Age of Ultron will be out on April 21 as DLC in Zen Pinball 2 and Pinball FX 2, one of which should be available on pretty much any gaming platform you can think of.

FINAL FANTASY XIV: HEAVENSWARD OPENING CINEMATIC REVEALED

On 04/11/2015, producer/director Naoki Yoshida hosted the 20th installment in the ‘Letter from the Producer LIVE’ series where he discussed the upcoming FINAL FANTASY XIV® expansion, Heavensward™. The event began with the Heavensward opening cinematic movie, which bridges the events of A Realm Reborn®’s finale and the beginning of Heavensward. Yoshida was also joined by special guest Kazuyuki Ikumori, the chief creative director of the Visual Works Division. Yoshida and Ikumori discussed the creation of the FINAL FANTASY XIV CG movies and other behind-the-scenes topics.

*Spoiler Alert Warning: The video contains scenes from the final moments of the FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn main scenario story.

During the broadcast, Yoshida took the opportunity to outline many of the new features and changes that players will experience in Heavensward. The presentation included information surrounding the raising of the level cap, the introduction of new job actions, new gameplay systems for the Disciples of the Hand and Land classes and details regarding the debut of the high-end Alexander raid dungeon. In addition to the presentation, Yoshida also addressed questions from the player community while showing off upcoming gameplay features.
