WE STAND ON GUARD KEEPS RECRUITING READERS

The first issue of the political science-fiction series flies off shelves, goes straight to second printing. New York Times bestselling and multiple Eisner-award winning writer Brian K. Vaughan (SAGA, PAPER GIRLS, PRIVATE EYE) and legendary storyboard artist Steve Skroce’s WE STAND ON GUARD’s action-packed military thriller about a future where a heroic band of Canadian civilians must defend their homeland from invasion launched to critical acclaim this summer and has been rushed to a second printing in order to meet customer demand.

Comic Book Resources raves, “We Stand on Guard #1 looks fantastic… [it’s] had high expectations tied into its very DNA and, overall, I think readers will be very pleased with what they find.” ComicList says, “We Stand On Guard has all the makings of a classic series.” In WE STAND ON GUARD #1, it’s 100 years from now and a heroic band of Canadian civilians must defend their homeland from invasion… by the United States of America! The hyper-detailed combat between badass freedom fighters and giant f***ing robots begins in this spectacular 40-page first issue.

“The fact that a comic book about Canadian freedom fighters could sell out of more than 90K copies (with zero variant covers!) is a testament to Image, our heroic retailing partners, and most importantly Steve Skroce and the international team of superstars we're lucky enough to have as collaborators. Thanks so much to all the readers out there for supporting new creator-owned work. And if you haven’t checked out our epic miniseries yet, we’re not planning to collect the story anytime soon, so this new printing of #1 is the ideal way to get caught up on the Two-Four’s bloody campaign,” said Vaughan.

WE STAND ON GUARD #1 remains available for purchase across all digital platforms, including the Image Comics website (imagecomics.com), the official Image Comics iOS app, Comixology’s website (comixology.com), iOS, Android, and Google Play.

WE STAND ON GUARD #1, 2nd printing  arrives in stores on October 7th.

WE STAND ON GUARD #2 and WE STAND ON GUARD #3 are available now.

WE STAND ON GUARD #4  will be available on October 7th.

CAPCOM ANNOUNCES RESIDENT EVIL® THEMED THIRD-PERSON SHOOTER UMBRELLA CORPS

At the Sony Computer Entertainment Japan Asia (SCEJA) Press Conference 2015 in Tokyo, Capcom, a leading worldwide developer and publisher of video games, announced Umbrella Corps™, a new fast-paced third person shooter set in the Resident Evil® universe. The competitive online game will feature quick, intense matches in compact battle zones themed from historic Resident Evil environments. The game utilizes the Unity engine developed by Unity Technologies. Umbrella Corps will be available digitally for an MSRP of $29.99 / €29.99 / £24.99 on PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system and PC across North America and Europe in early 2016.

Umbrella Corporation, a ruthless international pharmaceutical company, had been known for its genetic experiments and biological weaponry that led to worldwide devastation including the infamous Raccoon City incident . Although the organization was brought down in 2003, its legacy of bio-terrorism continued. In the present day, corporations with nebulous interests in bio-weaponry have hired squads of special forces for experimental battles in restricted virus-infected areas against other mercenaries. Umbrella Corps will feature high-intensity team-based matches where players can compete online in a variety of unique close quarter battle modes. Each adrenaline-fueled match will be short and brutal and is designed for quick and engaging play. The game will feature an analog aim and cover system, allowing for more precise control when firing from cover.

In the One Life Match mode, players must achieve their main objective to take down the other team without any option to re-spawn. One life per round is all a player gets as they must not only face the enemy team but also contend with classic Resident Evil enemies such as zombies that populate each map. Though these can be added threats, they can also be used to a player’s advantage if strategically used to hinder the other team.

In order to face all these threats, players will be equipped with gun and grenade based weaponry as well as specialized gear that add an extra layer ofResident Evil flair to the action. The non-traditional arsenal includes the Brainer (a powerful melee axe which goes straight into the skull), Tactical Shield (an arm-mounted guard allowing players to utilize a zombie as cover), Terrain Spikes (boot-mounted spikes for trampling the enemy), and Zombie Jammer (a device which repels zombies only when active). Players must be quick and strategic in changing up their tactics and weapons to win against the opposing team in this all-out brawl.

Attendees of Tokyo Game Show will be able to try their hand at Umbrella Corps which will make its playable debut at the event this week. The first demo will include two teams facing off in a 3 vs. 3 set-up of the One Life Match mode.
