Gamer Corner: Bradford

Welcome to this week's installment of Gamer Corner, where Fangirl Review interviews a gamer and gets his thoughts on the gaming world and learn what he is enjoying at the moment.

1. Tell me a little bit about yourself?

My name is Bradford White, I am an aspiring video game developer/game audio designer, that is stuck in the tech support field. I have attained my Bachelors degree in Video Game Design from Collins College.

2. What rig do you currently game on?

I currently play on the Wii U, PS Vita, 3DS, on my HP Envy laptop, but mostly PS3 and Xbox 360.

3. What game are you currently playing right now?

I am currently playing Grand Theft Auto (360), Beyond: Two Souls (PS3 duh), and Pokemon X (3DS duh).

4. Do you enjoy that game, why? How’s the overall game play?

I am currently enjoying all 3. Doing missions and heists with friends online is a blast in GTA. Beyond: Two Souls just blends cinematic acting, story, and logical gameplay all together in a great package. Pokemon is just amazing to finally have it in 3d.
5. Would you recommend it?

I would highly recommend all 3 games.

6. Are there any games coming out that you are looking forward to?

I am currently waiting for Watch Dogs, Destiny, Dead Rising 3, Titanfall, and the Crew.

7. What kind of gamer do you classify yourself to be? ie. PC, Console, Tabletop, LARP as well as Hardcore, RPG, etc.

Its hard to classify myself. I play just about any time of game save for LARP (haven't tried) and most sports games (only play boxing and NBA 2k).

8. So with the new consoles coming out, which way are you leaning One or 4? (Ignore if you are a PC gamer)

I am getting both on day 1 but I think the PS4 will be my primary this go round.

9. What are your thoughts on the gaming industry?

I am a little sad that the gaming industry is so reliant on the yearly release of franchises that they do not get enough time to live up to the potential that they can. I want more of the GTAs, Skyrims, Fallouts, and less of the yearly Call of Duty, Need for Speeds, and Assassins Creeds. Not that they are bad games but I just think they could be a lot better.

10. If you had the power, what direction would you have the gaming industry go?

I would give the developers more creative control and less financial worries and obligations. Also make it more stable in terms of jobs, I am so tired of hearing these studios making millions on top of millions laying off teams.

11. 10 years from now, where do you see the industry? Are you happy with that direction?

I see the industry catering more to mobile and casual gamers. I do not really like that direction. Games are becoming cake walks (for the most part).

12. Favorite Game (can include tabletop) of all time and why?

My favorite game of all time so far would have to be Uncharted 2. I think that game had a perfect blend of action, platforming, puzzles, great voice acting, cut scenes. I just didn’t get tired of anything in that game.

13. Additional Thoughts and Comments?

You have a great site, keep up the great work!

14. Would you like to share your gamer tag and the system so others may add you?

My gamer tag on XBL is xKTGx L3jay87, on Steam, PSN, Origin, and the Wii U it is just L3jay87.

Thank you to Bradford for a great interview. If you would like to be interviewed for Gamer Corner please contact me at fangirlcontact@gmail.com
