Mack Thoughts

This just in….The man without fear is back and he continues to prove that sight is not a prerequisite for kicking a** and taking names. This web series provided R rated content that daredevils and marvel fans deserve. I don’t think I able to count on one hand how many times the “ sugar honey ice tea” word was used but it was refreshing that Marvel left its Disney audience at home and catered to superheroe fans and geeks alike. It was like watching an R rated version of Kick A** during the fight scenes. Although Daredevil has “abilities” he still reminds me of the caped crusader but without the vast fortune to accommodate a headquarters and cool equipment. Nope just an old fashioned butt whopping by a blind man without fear and heightened senses. Daredevil is definitely connected to MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe) as they makes references to the “incident” instead of fully discussing or addressing the events that transpired in The Avengers when the aliens invaded. Don’t get your hopes up just yet Dare Devil and The Avengers will not be providing support to each other anytime soon. As the Creators stated while they both may exist in the same universe; Dare Devil is in the dark corner of that Universe. Translation Dare Devil is fighting for 1. Hell’s Kitchen and for 2. the impoverished “little guy” that the law fails to protect against criminals that are not important enough for tech geniuses, thunder gods and super spies. Daredevil is fighting against pedophiles, rapist, drug dealers, thugs, criminal organizations such as the Russians, Triads & Yakooza and The King Pin.

We get to learn about what events allowed Matt Murdock to become DareDevil like that accident that claimed his sight, the relationship with his dad, lack of his mother, the conflict with his behavior and his faith and being trained by his mentor; Stick.

We learned just as much about the Wilson Fisk. His equally impoverished and violent upbringing. His conflict with duplicitous nature and his early beginnings running a crime syndicate and meeting the woman behind the criminal mastermind.

Overall this series is awesome. Marvel and Netflix got it right from the origin stories, to the action packed fight scenes with bloody violence, sick graphics and the plot with engagingly realistic storylines. (Ben Affleck better not flub the Batman/Supermn Dawn of Justice Movie as he did the DareDevil movie in2003 or it may too need to be aired out and redone by Netflix) Netflix has just created a new niche for fans and providing all 13 episodes at once for binge watching….
