Minecraft Story Mode Review

Story line:
In Minecraft: Story Mode, playing as either a male or female hero named 'Jesse,' you'll embark on a perilous adventure across the Overworld, through the Nether, to the End, and beyond. You and your friends revere the legendary Order of the Stone: Warrior, Redstone Engineer, Griefer, and Architect; slayers of the Ender Dragon. While at EnderCon in hopes of meeting Gabriel the Warrior, Jesse's friends discover that something is wrong... something dreadful. Terror is unleashed, and you must set out on a quest to find The Order of the Stone if you are to save your world from oblivion.

Fangirl Thoughts: I have held on to this review because I was waiting until the final episode came out but I figured just go ahead and update this later. I will admit I was a bit skeptical to see how this would all work but surprisingly TellTale games was able to pull together a great compelling story line that grips you quickly and leaves you addicted to each episode. I became very invested in the characters early on. There are five episodes all together and I have played the first four while I wait not so patiently for the last one.

The game has a choose your fate set up. Basically during a dialog you are forced to choose quickly one of two options and the person you are talking to will remember your choices so choose wisely. (frankly I always choose the more positive path so once the game is done I will choose the darker path to see where that leads me.) The fight sequences forces the player to press an action button and depending on your timing or lack thereof you may end up dead so be quick! I may have died once or twice since I was on my phone and not paying attention.

Overall this is a great fun game that takes the beloved characters from Minecraft and give them a personality that you will become attached to. I will admit I did not think that I would become so attached to Rueben but I could not help it. I even have a Rueben key chain. I look forward to seeing how they wrap up this game.
