IMDB Story line: Picking up immediately after the events in Resident Evil: Retribution, humanity is on its last legs in Washington D.C. As the only survivor of what was meant to be humanity's final stand against the undead hordes, Alice must return to where the nightmare began - Raccoon City, where the Umbrella Corporation is gathering its forces for a final strike against the only remaining survivors of the apocalypse. In a race against time Alice will join forces with old friends, and an unlikely ally, in an action packed battle with undead hordes and new mutant monsters. Between regaining her superhuman abilities at Wesker's hand and Umbrella's impending attack, this will be Alice's most difficult adventure as she fights to save humanity, which is on the brink of oblivion.
Fangirl Thoughts:
Yes everyone, the movie franchise is finally coming to an end. I know it jumped the shark when the first movie was released but for some reason this series has stuck with me and I continue to enjoy it. It may be because I have a huge girl crush on Milla Jovovich. She is so beautiful and badass. How can you not love her? I have always been a huge fan of the video game series (let's be honest the game jumped the shark as well.....can a video game series do that or would there be another phrase for a game losing its way so bad?) anyway...I digress. This movie is supposed to be the final installment and I almost want to break out and start singing Boys II Men "End of the Road". This is the 6th installment in the franchise. The first one came out in 2002 and this one is slated for January 27th, 2017. So it is 15 years after the first one was released. Wow!
I will watch this movie and it does not matter if it is not a deep philisophical addition to the cinema; this is a series that is near and dear to my heart and I look forward to seeing Alice with her team facing off old enemies. I mean she is going back to the Hive and dealing with the Red Queen! I cannot wait! This trailer has my Resident Evil Fangirl jumping for joy!
