Nintendo Gives Fans Ways to Stay Engaged with Its E3-Related Activities

Nintendo is getting ready for the E3 video game trade show in Los Angeles next week, and wants to help fans stay engaged with all the Nintendo news and action from the show. Here’s a rundown of some of Nintendo’s activities before and during the show:

June 8

• The Legend of Zelda Twitter campaign forMiitomo in-app gifts: Miitomousers should check @NintendoAmerica on Twitter today for a special tweet kicking off a collaboration between the mobile app and the Legend of Zelda franchise. If the tweet gets a combined 10,000 retweets worldwide, Nintendo will issue a “Link’s new hair wig” as an in-app gift to all users of Nintendo’sMiitomo mobile app. If it gets 20,000 combined retweets, Nintendo will give all Miitomo users a “Link wig” in the Miitomo app.

June 14

• More of The Legend of Zelda in Miitomo: Miitomo will continue its celebration of The Legend of Zelda with a themed Miitomo Drop game that will give players the chance to win The Legend of Zelda-themed in-app gear for their Mii character. Players will also be able to use Miitomo coins inMiitomo to purchase The Legend of Zelda collaboration items. An additional The Legend of Zeldacollaboration gift will be available on the My Nintendo website, and players can exchange their My Nintendo Platinum Points for this item.
• Nintendo Treehouse: Live – Day 1: Nintendo’s kickoff to the E3 trade show begins at 9 a.m. PT, with an introduction by Nintendo of America President and COO Reggie Fils-Aime and the world’s first look at live gameplay of The Legend of Zelda game for the Wii U console. Viewers can also catch the first live gameplay of the Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon games. Watch Nintendo Treehouse: Live via Nintendo’s channels on YouTube and Twitch, as well as on http://e3.nintendo.com.
• Nintendo eShop sale: Starting at 11 a.m. PT until 8:59 a.m. PT on June 21, Nintendo is offering discounts on some of its most popular games as a special treat for fans. My Nintendo members who are signed in will also get a special bonus if they buy select games included in the sale. Anyone who hasn’t signed up for My Nintendo yet is encouraged to do so now to avoid the E3 rush. To get the extra discount, My Nintendo members must link their Nintendo Account to their Nintendo Network ID and access Nintendo eShop on their device at least once before they make a purchase. June 15

• Nintendo Treehouse: Live – Day 2: Starting at 10 a.m. PT, the Nintendo Treehouse: Live programming will showcase upcoming Wii U and Nintendo 3DS games, including Monster Hunter Generations from Capcom, Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past and Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE. LIVE FROM LA AND LONDON: EA PLAY 2016 SET TO KICK OFF WITH JUNE 12 PRESS CONFERENCE

Battlefield 1, Titanfall 2, FIFA 17, Madden NFL 17 and NHL 17 All Playable at the Show

Electronic Arts Inc. (NASDAQ: EA) revealed the latest details about EA PLAY including the press conference and all the games that will be playable at the show. EA will broadcast its press conference live across Los Angeles and London June 12 at 9:00pm BST, kicking off the events of EA PLAY LA at The Novo in L.A. Live and EA PLAY LONDON at the Eventim Apollo in Hammersmith. Hosted by CEO, Andrew Wilson, in LA and Chief Competition Officer, Peter Moore, in London, the press conference will showcase some of EA’s most anticipated games launching later this year and next, with a few surprises from games beyond that. Fans across the world will be able to tune into the press conference livestream at 9:00pm BST on http://www.ea.com/play2016.

EA PLAY is an all-new event built specifically around players to bring EA’s latest games to life. Following the press conference in both locations, the event will be open for the first hands-on with upcoming titles Battlefield™ 1 and Titanfall® 2, as well as fan-favorite sports titles FIFA 17, Madden NFL 17 and NHL® 17.

At EA PLAY LA, the first-ever Battlefield™ 1 multiplayer livestream titled, Battlefield Squads, will occur at 2:00pm PDT (10:00pm BST). Here two 32-player community-led teams will compete against each other to see who comes out on top. Each team is made up of the most well-known YouTubers, Twitch streamers and celebrities including Marshawn Lynch, Wiz Khalifa and Zedd. The livestream will then continue throughout the day highlighting some of EA’s biggest franchises and live services.

In addition to going hands-on with upcoming games, players at EA PLAY LA will be treated with tons of fun activities to enjoy, including:

• Hands-on with EA’s hottest mobile releases including Bejeweled™ Stars and Madden NFL Mobile
• On Monday and Tuesday, watching live competitive gaming events including the Madden Championship
• On Monday, Todd McFarlane will be on-hand signing a special, limited edition Titanfall 2 poster designed specifically for EA PLAY
• On Sunday, getting an autograph from LA Rams star NFL running back, Todd Gurley
• Creating custom Battlefield 1 dog tags reflective of the WW1 era
• Collecting six special event pins
• Experiencing the new innovative Samsung curved screen gaming monitors, giving real immersion to their gaming experience

For guests and non-guests attending the event, they are invited to download the official EA PLAY app. This is a handy tool so that fans across the globe can also watch the EA PLAY livestream directly from it. In addition, the app will allow everyone to access all the event information and check out the newest gameplay assets, news and developer bios about all the games at the show. For those in attendance at EA PLAY LA, the app will also contain helpful information such as a venue map to help them easily navigate to play all the games and partake in all the fun activities.

DC ENTERTAINMENT SIGNS MITCH GERADS

“THE SHERIFF OF BABYLON” ARTIST ONBOARD FOR FUTURE VERTIGO, DC PROJECTS

DC Entertainment (DCE) continues to add top-notch talent to its creative roster, announcing today that it has reached an agreement with artist Mitch Gerads to create comic book content solely for its DC and Vertigo imprints. Gerads will continue his incredible work with writer Tom King (who has also made DCE his creative home) on Vertigo’s groundbreaking monthly series THE SHERIFF OF BABYLON. Drawing on King’s background and experiences as a CIA counterterrorism operations officer, this wartime crime drama takes readers deep into the underworld of the city of Baghdad during one of the most tumultuous times in modern history.

”As our talent roster continues to expand, it’s exciting to see that we’re stocking it with some of the best writers and artists in the industry today, and Mitch Gerads is no exception,” said DC Entertainment Co-Publisher Jim Lee. “His style is the perfect complement to Tom King’s gritty storytelling, and I can’t wait to see how Mitch tackles other Vertigo and DC projects in the future.”

The series explores Baghdad, 2003. Florida Police officer-turned-military contractor, Chris Henry is tasked with training a new Iraqi police force. When one of his trainees ends up dead, Chris is forced to team up with Nassir, the last remaining cop in Baghdad. Pulling the strings to bring them together is the mysterious Sofia, an American-educated Iraqi who has returned to take control of the city’s criminal underworld. This monthly miniseries will see its first story arc collected as a trade paperback in comic book stores on July 6 and everywhere books are sold on July 12.

“From the moment I began working with them, the Vertigo and DC teams have treated me like family, so teaming up with them was an easy and obvious decision for me,” explains Gerads. “I’m really looking forward to my future with the company,” and am incredibly proud of THE SHERIFF OF BABYLON; Tom and I are excited to work on a book that feels so important and Vertigo has given us a chance to really say something, and say it all. 'Minecraft: Story Mode - A Telltale Games Series' Episode 6 - 'A Portal to Mystery' Available Now

Minecraft: Story Mode Episode 6 - 'A Portal to Mystery'. 

The first episode in an add-on series of three new adventures, Episode 6: 'A Portal to Mystery' will be available digitally worldwide starting Tuesday June 7th on PC and Mac from the Telltale Online Store, Steam, and other digital distribution services, on the PlayStation®Network for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3, on the Xbox Games Store for Xbox One® and Xbox 360®, for compatible iOS devices via the App Store, and for compatible Android-based devices via Google Play and the Amazon Appstore. The episode will also be coming to the Windows Store.

This episode may be purchased digitally as part of the new Adventure Pass for $14.99 USD or equivalent, which includes access to Episodes 6, 7, and 8 as they release.
