CURSE WORDS CASTS ITS SPELL

New series from Soule and Browne set to launch in January 2017

Bestselling writer Charles Soule (Daredevil, Death of Wolverine, Star Wars) and artist Ryan Browne (GOD HATES ASTRONAUTS) team up for an all-new ongoing series CURSE WORDS, set to launch from Image Comics in January 2017.

In the series, a wizard appears one day in New York City, claiming he's here to protect the planet from dark magical forces bent on its destruction. The world falls in love with Wizord and his slick sorcerous ways - after all, we've never had a wizard before. Everything's great! But it's not. Wizord is actually fleeing an extremely dark past, and it's only a matter of time before that evil comes calling. CURSE WORDS is a gonzo modern fantasy, full of shadows, light… and magic.

"Ryan Browne and I wanted to create a series where literally anything could happen, and giving the story a magical framework lets us do that,” said Soule. “Curse Words constantly surprises me with what happens next, and I'm writing the thing. Ultimately, it's the story of a man trying to be good in a world that wants him to be bad—but it's also got a talking koala. That's Curse Words. Deep, wrenching, relatable character beats mixed with some of the most wonderful, strangest things you've ever seen in a comic. Even better, it's all drawn by the Incredible Ryan Browne—so you know it's pretty."

Browne added: "Thank goodness for Charles' words. I would buy Him writing the phone book. I draw. But His words! So good."

CURSE WORDS is Lord of the Rings meets Breaking Bad. A color-saturated, anything-goes dark fantasy romp about the coolest, most charming evil wizard you've ever met in your life. It is, in a word, magical.

CURSE WORDS #1 Cover A by Browne and Cover B by Skottie Young hits stores on Wednesday, January 18th.

New Gears of War 4 Multiplayer Maps to Debut November 1

Coming this November, two of the most popular Gears of War Legacy Maps will make their debut in Gears of War 4 with the addition of Checkout and Drydock for Versus Multiplayer and Horde.

Available November 1 for Season Pass holders as part of the early access Developer Playlist, Checkout and Dry Dock will also be introduced into free public playlists on November 8. The addition of Checkout and Drydock signals the first month of free map updates for Gears of War 4. Owners and fans can look forward to two new maps each month.
  • Checkout - Revisit the iconic supermarket in Cole’s hometown of Hanover 25 years after the events of Gears of War 3 in this Legacy Map. Much like the rest of Sera, nature is reclaiming whatever it can following the Locust Wars, but that hasn’t slowed the fast, furious and frenetic combat that takes place between the checkout lanes and the electronics department.
  • Drydock - Transported from a COG ship building facility to a ship breaking scrapyard on a Seran mudflat, this fan-favorite returns with a vengeance to Gears of War 4 Versus Multiplayer and Horde modes.
In addition to the release of these fan favorite maps, tune into Xbox Wire on November 1 for a sneak peek at the Run the Jewels “Air Drop” featuring playable Killer Mike and EL-P characters for Versus Multiplayer and Horde.

Season Pass owners also receive five exclusive digital items as part of the Vintage VIP Pack, including the Vintage JD character skin, Vintage Gnasher and Dropshot weapon skins, Vintage JD Emblem and Vintage JD Bounty for extra XP; permanent DLC map ownership of over 24 additional maps (two per month for a year) for private play on dedicated servers; access to an exclusive Developer Playlist where new maps, modes and features can be tested prior to broad release; and the Starter Airdrop, a care package that outfits gamers with over a dozen Gear Packs and grants assorted character and weapon skins, Horde skills and abilities, and XP boosting bounties.

Season Pass and DLC Details Also Revealed

SQUARE ENIX® announced that FINAL FANTASY® XV has gone gold. To mark this production milestone, a new CG cinematic trailer, entitled “Omen,” released. Eagle-eyed viewers will see that this dynamic new trailer also celebrates the game’s gold status in a unique way.

Omen is a conceptual CG cinematic trailer created by the world-renowned 3D animation studio DIGIC Pictures, who also worked on KINGSGLAIVE™: FINAL FANTASY XV. Noctis navigates a rapidly shifting world, endless waves of enemies, a gradual loss of abilities, and a madness that brings harm to his beloved fiancĂ©e. Inspired by the world and story of FINAL FANTASY XV, the trailer depicts a nightmarish “omen” for Noctis’ father King Regis—a catastrophic future that must be avoided.

To watch the new Omen trailer visit:

With FINAL FANTASY XV achieving gold status, development will now shift towards creation of the Season Pass ($24.99) DLC that will provide further content and ways to enjoy FINAL FANTASY XV into the year ahead.

The main focus of the Season Pass is three original episodes that take place during the events of FINAL FANTASY XV. Each episode allows players to take control of one of Noctis’ comrades in all-new adventures that offer unique play styles tailored to each character. Players can explore previously unseen areas filled with new monsters, and even obtain weapons that can later be used in the main game. Episode Gladiolus is the first new character adventure to arrive, and will be followed by Episode Ignis and Episode Prompto. Each episode will be available for purchase individually.

Following the release of the character episodes, Comrades—an expansion pack for FINAL FANTASY XV—will introduce a brand-new online co-op mode for up to four players which features intense battles allowing players to take full control of Noctis, Gladio, Prompto and Ignis as a group. Comrades will be available for separate purchase, and is also included in the Season Pass.

This additional content and character episodes are managed by Haruyoshi Sawatari (Producer, Business Division 2) and overseen by FINAL FANTASY XV Director Hajime Tabata with development led by core members of the FINAL FANTASY XV team.

“Last year I travelled around the world and attended many game events. I felt an amazing passion and sense of expectation towards FINAL FANTASY XV from series fans everywhere,” said Sawatari. “From seeing that I really wanted to make it so that the fans could enjoy the game for longer and evolve and expand it even further. I will take these feelings and give them form, to deliver an amazing experience.”
