Gamer Corner: Rich

Welcome to this week's installment of Gamer Corner, where Fangirl Review interviews a gamer and gets his thoughts on the gaming world and learn what he is enjoying at the moment.

Tell me a little bit about yourself?

Born and raised in Dallas, TX. Joined the military in 2008 and now reside in Atlantic Beach, FL. I graduate this December with my bachelors in Network Systems Administration.

What rig do you currently game on?

I have PS4, PS3, Vita, and Wii U. Right now I’m playing heavily on my PS4.

What game are you currently playing right now?

I’m jumping from Madden, Killzone, and Assassins Creed 4 with Killzone and Assassins Creed taking up most of my free time.

Do you enjoy that game, why? How’s the overall game play?

I enjoy both games Killzone provides me with the shooting that I need, the story line falls short but overall it’s a great game. Assassins Creed gives me my open world fix and compared to Assassins Creed 3, this game is awesome. It reminds me a little bit of AC2 which I enjoyed a lot. The overall gameplay is awesome.

Would you recommend it?

If I would suggest one of the two, I would go towards AC4 just for the simple fact that Killzone campaign is roughly 10 hours, whereas AC4 is over 50.

Are there any games coming out that you are looking forward to?

I am a diehard Metal Gear solid fan so I’m really looking forward to MGSV, inFamous Second Son, and Watchdogs.

Yes I picked the picture with him crouching behind a box!

What kind of gamer do you classify yourself to be? ie. PC, Console, Tabletop, LARP as well as Hardcore, RPG, etc.

I’m definitely a console guy, that’s all I know.

What are your thoughts on the gaming industry?

I think these “fanboys” picking sides between console really takes the fun out of gaming. People are taking part of a console war and you would think they helped put out the product. At the end of the day I’m a gamer.

If you had the power, what direction would you have the gaming industry go?

I’m honestly not a fan of motion gaming, but that’s just me I know it’s just a gimmick or a phase if you will but I would like to see the industry focus back to controllers and developing more platform games.

10 years from now, where do you see the industry? Are you happy with that direction?

I see the industry focusing more on the entertainment aspect focusing more on apps and less on games, and of course the rise of digital downloads are upon us. I’m happy with digital downloads, but I think the whole “entertainment” thing loses focus on gaming and put more focus on Netflix and Hulu etc.

Favorite Game (can include tabletop) of all time and why?

Metal Gear Solid is my favorite game, to me it was the first real cinematic video game and it’s the reason why I still play now.

Yup, another hiding behind something picture.

Would you like to share your gamer tag and the system so others may add you?
