Movie Review: Furious 7

IMDB Story Line: Dominic Torretto (Vin Diesel) and his crew thought they left the criminal mercenary life behind. They defeated an international terrorist named Owen Shaw and went their separate ways. But now, Shaw's brother, Deckard Shaw (Jason Statham) is out killing the crew one by one for revenge. Worse, a Somalian terrorist called Jakarde (Djimon Hounsou), and a shady government official called "Mr. Nobody" are both competing to steal a computer terrorism program called God's Eye, that can turn any technological device into a weapon. Torretto must reconvene with his team to stop Shaw and retrieve the God's Eye program while caught in a power struggle between terrorist and the United States government.

My Thoughts: This movie was a great addition to the franchise. There were hot girls, hot cars, and car chases. I know that they defied physics and logic at every turn but you go into this movie leaving common sense at the door. The car jump from a plane was fun to watch especially with Tyreese freaking out about it. There were great funny moments peppered throughout the movie so you could smile. It was sad saying goodbye to Paul Walker. The movie showed their respect at the end. We all know that his brothers stepped in as body doubles for him at certain points in the movie. You could feel when it wasn't Walker though, something felt off but I tipped my hat off to the family for finishing his work for him.

The camera work was fun. When they were fighting and rolling, the camera was rolling with them. They really wanted the viewer to be in action and they did a superb job at it.

My gripes: The over the top soap opera moments between Dom and Letty (Michelle Rodriguez) had me giggling in the movie. I couldn't control it. It was so heavy handed that I felt like I was watching an episode of Passions. I understand that they wanted to focus on that love but come on! Also Dwayne Johnson (Hobbs) kept trying for this perfect one liners that I wish he would stop trying to deliver. It just became annoying but do not get me wrong I enjoyed watching him being all oiled up.
