Movie Review: Deadpool

AMC Storyline: Based upon Marvel Comics' most unconventional anti-hero, DEADPOOL tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson (Ryan Reynolds), who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humor, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life.

Fangirl Thoughts: This Marvel hero movie is rated R so be prepared. It uses all aspects of the rating to its fullest extent and pushes the envelope. I truly enjoyed this movie as the joke were fast paced and violence bloody good. This is not a movie for the kids so leave them home. Ryan Reynolds as Wade Wilson was the perfect pick. His humor comes across well and he is able to carry this iconic character without any problems. This is definitely a full price ticket purchase and has a high rewatch value.

The love story between Vanessa (Morena Baccarin) and Wade is fun to watch as it develops. Blind Al (Leslie Uggams), Dopinder (Karan Soni), and Weasel (T.J. Miller) provide a great group of supporting characters that provides additional comedy that makes the movie well balanced.

Colossus (Stefan Kapicic) and Negasonic Teenage Warhead (Brianna Hildebrand) add the touch of the X-men. Luckily Deadpool points out that the studio could only afford those two and that's why they are the only ones we see in the movie. There are many more jokes like this as well as some masturbation with a unicorn. My personal favorite moment involved a baby hand.

This is a must see movie and it is already slated for a sequel. (There is a stinger at the movie so stick around) Check it out and let me know your thoughts.

Random Fangirl Thoughts: Now that we see that a Rated R movie works, will we see more?
